Frank Field Quits Labour

Every thread turns into a Corbyn bashing thread.

Forum was decent to start with and had potential but its quickly turning to shit and being allowed to.

Because he is a divisive figure and hated by many. You sound so much like a millennial child it is untrue.

He is hated by many. These people by and large are either Tories or what used to be called Blairites.

The two groups dislike him for different reasons. Tories obviously dislike him as he is complete anathema to them. He's a socialist and would do away with things like car parking charges at hospitals, which were a nice little earner for the shareholder community.
New Labour people who are not as shitty as the Tories generally still resent him taking away their power. Understandable.

There is a third group of people in the country who love him, something that seems to be overlooked. After all he didn't become leader by wiggling his nose and hoping it to be so.

These people admire him as he is different Whereas the Tory philosophy is to make the rich as happy as possible without causing social unrest, Corbyn reckons reasonably that the rich are pretty much buttressed against the problems most of us face. He is not interested in people whose major problem is whether to send their child to Eton or Harrow.

The question then arises how best to help the least advantaged in society. The Tories obviously not as in my opinion they have never cared about those near or at the bottom.

Many of the arguments on here revolve around whether Corbynism or Blairism is the best option. The latter think JC would hole the economy and therefore not be able to do what he wants to. The former think that New Labour's devotion to an outdated economic model offsets the progressive social policies they introduce.

But it wasn't what I wanted, was it? It was a discussion on fields record and peopele are/ were free to agree with me or say why his quiting and if he does loose a byelection if called is a bad thing.

Ok then lets play nice ;0), take the claim that one motive was Fields voting his conscience last month, which is something Jessa has a problem with, but as a backbench MP he was known for his activism and rebelliousness, frequently voting against the Labour whip while claiming his ever shifting principles overrode the party line, but then Jessa has always had a problem with educated people like Frank, maybe its his two A levels (Both E grade) that give the little shit an inferiority complex compared to the University education of Fields, and would explain why he surrounds himself with such mental giants as Abbott.

Claims Fields is a "Blairite" are not in line with his resigning as a minister after a fall out with phoney tony, and a record of criticising new labours policies while a back bench MP during their years in power backs that up, his constituents have return him at every election so his local party committee being hijacked by the loony left means little.

I hope he does stand as an independent, either getting beaten by a Tory or returned would both be a slap for the rabid left.

The reason why the party has the hump with Field ( and Hoey, Mann and Stringer ) is that they sided with the Govt on the Brexit vote and Labour hoped a defeat would lead to a no confidence vote in Mayday and trigger a GE. So what he did was not side with the Labour Whip that he has now made such a production over resigning from.

I never said the claim he was a blairite came from you, but it was bandied about as a reason the left turned on him.

As I am not Corbyn who clearly has a problem with peoples education I dont give a flying bud, I will talk to anyone short of a f*cking ragarse.

Exactly the same thing Corbyn did but on a regular basis as a back bencher, which is what I said.

They didn’t side with the government they sided with their voters. The majority of their constituents voted Leave. Their doing their job, by representing them in parliament. Perhaps other politicians should take a leaf out of their book.
