What is the point in this? other than keep Lampard fit. doesn't benefit Man City much.

What is the point in this? other than keep Lampard fit. doesn't benefit Man City much.

As we already have a big squad.....Would this mean we have to leave someone out of the squad for CL and PL games while he's here?..

Manuel Pellegrini is trying to persuade Frank Lampard to play for Manchester City before he moves to New York City FC next year.

The Premier League champions are confident that they will be able to register the Chelsea legend, 36, as their player ahead of the big kick off in two weeks.

The move would represent a sensational u-turn by Lampard, who has always insisted he does not want to play for another Premier League club.

Lampard does not want to damage his relationship with the Chelsea faithful, so he would be allowed to sit out the September 21 clash at the Etihad between the two teams.

we do have rodwell , but i think its mainly for the HG + experience and also to keep himself fit for MLS

City often don't submit a full 25 man squad, it was only 24 last Sept so there could be room.

Shame David Villa was not English....he would of been the perfect loan signing ....
