From a new fan...

It's a load of bollocks all this new fan old fan stuff. One of the side
effects of success is that you pick up new fans. Some of them will
stay as long as we're good and some will stay forever no matter what.
So it has always been and so it will remain. The more the merrier for me.

So to summarise, you chose City because you wanted to learn about the sport and admired a few of our individual players?

You also liked what you heard from the audio feed of a few microphones by the pitch?

And that made your choice all the easier?

And now following a recent trip to CoMS you were so enamoured by a few blues buying you a few pints by virtue of the novelty of you being American 'blue', that you're confident enough to cast aspersions upon anyone who doesn't greet your new novelty niche and subsequent arrival with grateful open arms?

Funny stuff.

Had you been exposed to the 'EPL' (as you put it) two or three years ago you would have chosen Liverpool or Chelsea. So excuse me if I don't take you too seriously.

that's okay, no one needs your respect or your approval to follow the same club that you do.

I cannot wait to come back in September for the Everton tie,

Welcome Jim,success brings new fans, its just City hasn't had success for so long that the fans don't know how to deal or react to them,it will just take time, time to acknowledge that its a good thing.

Maybe saying Everton game rather than tie will help things along.

Uncle Chuck--you forgot the ladies of Manchester in your dissection of my post. BTW when was the WC? Two or three years ago, no? You're excused.

You're stealing my oxygen.

it's adorable that there's people out there who think there won't or shouldn't be international fans of one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Sigh-- I appreciate your edit, so I have edited my nasty name calling before posting. I don't think I put down fellow Americans, rather I said they give sod all about "soccer". I can look up TV stats, team logo sales, or any number of cross tabs to prove my point if pressed. But off the top of my head, the following sports in the USA will draw an audience long before "soccer"...American Football, Baseball, basketball, hockey, NASCAR, Golf, College football, college baseball, poker...The point I make it European Football is way down the list. I wanted to be knowledgable about the World Cup, to know who was playing, to try to understand the game. In that process, I found I enjoyed "soccer", specifically City, and have no regrets.

As for my comment about ladies...sincere as could be.

And as for how I vote? I make a good living in politics and government here...Please tell me how do you perceive my vote?

City are on...I shall look for your reply later
