Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

The tie is over 2 legs and even if the game ends in a draw you need pens to finalise the result
You’re arguing for arguments sake. Ive shown you that according to FIFA, UEFA & IFAB it’s a draw. If for instance you lost 1st leg 1-0, but won 2nd leg 1-0, but then lost the shoot out, you still won the match.

A few years ago we were credited on a 20 game consecutive win streak, however all the bitters complained that actually we didn’t as the 12th game was a win on penalties v Wolves. It was erased from the records as the IFAB stated it was a draw, as wins on penalties do not count as part of the match.
Thankfully we regained the record with 21 consecutive wins a few years later.

he is a frustrating player to watch but undoubted talent. wonder goal. atm imo I think he is a very good impact sub.
If he is a frustrating player to watch than i feel sorry for your family .If Doku doesn’t entertain you or put you on edge of your seat or twitch your anus and give you mild premature ejaculation , then you are definitely watching wrong sport.

Without KDB, Rodri, and Bernie who is not as effective as he used to be we are not at the expected level. It's by no means alarm bells but it will be much harder to win the title this year. Top 4 and a trophy I think is realistic.
Bernie lathered butter, seasoning and stuffing all over Robinson and cooked him and you come up with this “ not as effective “ fuck ? who are you?

Lack of intensity up front, both in attack and particularly when defending, is main issue for me.
We are allowing teams to have more and more of the ball without challenging them at all. And if they are able to play like Fulham yesterday we are always in danger. Don't remember when was the last time we conceded two regular goals and it could have been three from counterattacks. It is not sustainable.

I could probably point you to 500 posts exactly like this, every year for the last 4 seasons at exactly the same stage of the season. And we’ve all been guilty of it so I’m not having a go at you. Pep just seems to take a few months before he finds the perfect solution for each season. So long as we’re no more than 5-8 points behind after Christmas we win the league.

We pose zero threat on corners, and simply have no ‘free kick specialist’
The absolute worst for me is throw-ins,for a manager that has built a team around ball retention, we must have the worst ball retention in the PL from throw-ins, either throwing the ball directly to the opposition or losing the second ball, not to mention foul throws, the stats must be quite astounding!
We equalised from a corner? I seem to recall Kovacic's first?

Must've been another match.

Just watched the match on the OS & Fulham were good. They had three clear cut chances to score, but profligate finishing & the brilliance of Ederson kept them at bay.

We were far better in the second half, but were under serious pressure for the last 20 minutes. However, Fulham had a clear week & we'd played away in the CL which has to be taken into consideration, as I thought our levels dropped for the final quarter of the match which is understandable.

I thought Gundog was poor in the first half, but improved after the break, but he isn't having the influence he did during our treble season.

Kovacic, Bernardo, Akanji, Gvardiol, Dias & Rico had good games, but we seemed to lack creativity through the packed central midfield areas.

Over all, I thought we deserved the win, but we couldn't complain if Fulham got a draw. Three Points is three points, & hopefully the international break will give Pep the opportunity to assess how we get around the creativity issue.

Kev will be back which will give us better options & we have to find a way to solidify our defence better than we are. Thankfully, Doku's zinger of a goal, which swerved away from Leno for effectively the winner guaranteed us a hard fought win.

I saw nothing to be pressing the panic alarm over. However, we do have big scope for improvement, but credit to Fulham for giving us a proper game all the same.
