Barry certainly is overrated and the weakest link in this City side. He is positioned to be a controlling midfielder with defensive duties. Fulham looked unfazed by him and found chances to operate in front of the goal. Barry was also the culprit for the 1-1 against napoli and again and again shows that he is not a constant performer. He's not a midfield enforcer, nor does he has a winner mentality. He's not influential since most of the magic is done by the players in front of him. Even then barry is being overzealous by joining in to stand out: exposing the midfield in the proces and making city vulnerable to counter attacks. He doesn't have the awareness needed to be a good enough defensive midfielder.
The last time de Jong played City won 4-0. Since he's injured the defence looked shaky. It's time you face and accept it: Barry is the weak link. Especially now that his 'vision' and 'amazing passes' aren't that much needed with the likes of Nasri and Silva in the ranks.
