Irrespective of whether Negredo and Dzeko can form a decent partnership, Silva has been even more brilliant than usual playing behind a single striker.

Why do people keep putting Hart to start, I very much doubt he will, Pants has not done enough wrong and Joe not enough right to Justify it
Didn't think he played well against Arsenal. Didn't get much stick for their first, Hart would have been lambasted for that.

And?

That's the point of a partnership, they can play off each other. You see that with Negredo and Aguero.

Neither Dzeko or Negredo can really play to each others strengths.

And what?

I've seen aguero and negredo play poorly in away games. I've mentioned them above. They haven't played off each other then and they had the first team beind them.

The point is your judging they can't work together from 2 away games where a lot of first team didn't play. I know people like to come to snap judgements on this forum, but you know, I like to give it a few games before coming to a conclusion.
It's not 2 games it's the 2 players style of play and strengths.

Your belief people are basing it solely off of 2 games is more a snap judgement than anything tbf.

Not really people who say dzeko and negredo are shit together are definitely judging from the 2 games. If they weren't they would have said dzeko and negredo can't play together.

I also don't think you can judge a partnership before seeing it to be honest for a few games. You may think they're styles don't mix but one may change there game to accommodate the other, dropping deeper to collect the ball etc.

I though cole and vassel wouldn't work but it was pretty good in the end.

Could, maybe should, have saved their 2nd as well in my view.

I was going to say that as well. He's not as agile as Hart. Better at taking crosses

Regardless of whether or not they can form a partnership, if they were to play upfront together that would mean 4-4-2 with more than likely Silva and Nasri out wide as how do you drop either of them?

Given how well Silva's playing behind the striker I'd say it's more than likely we see 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 with Dzeko up front by himself like at Leicester and Munich when he played well.

Manuel Pellegrini will probably go with one striker and would prefer Negredo to fill that spot. As for right back, Milner will be given the role as Boyata wasn't convincing against Leicester imo.

I too would like pellegrini to play 4-5-1 with either silva or nasri behind the striker. Probably dzeko up front as well because negredo seems to struggle away from home (hopefully scores a hat-trick now i've said that).

But it wouldn't surprise me if we went 442 with dzeko, negredo or even jovetic if fit. Pellegrini seems quite stubborn with sticking to the formation in premiership games (pretty similar to mancini).

Hopefully what ever pellegrini plays it will be the right choice.

I'd rather Pellers go for 3-5-2 with either Komps or DeMichelis as a líbero.

Costelo
Vince - Martin - Gael
James- Yaya - Fernandinho - Javi - Aleks
Dali - Alvaro

Could as well be a 3-4-3:

Costelo
Vince - Martin - Gael
James- Yaya - Fernandinho - Javi
Dali - Alvaro - Samir

He does punch a few ( not always to great effect).

When did we sign Dali?

Mancini did some years ago. Nee David Silva a.k.a Dali due to the wonders he draws with his left foot paintbrush

Btw what's the problem with first names.

Formation and style of play shouldn't be dictated by injuries. Usual 4-2-2-2:

----------------Pantilimon-------------------------
Facey---Kompany---Demichelis---Clichy
-------------Fernandinho---Yaya---------------
---Nasri-------------------------------------Silva---
----------------Negredo---Dzeko-----------------

-------------Fane--------------

--Anga----Jean----Gaston----Gael--

Philip---Gnegneri---Luiz---Ben Said

-------------Josue-----------------
----------------Sanchez------------

A formation change does not necessarily mean a change in style of play.

If Negredo and Dzeko playing together is redundant & a waste of a field player (and it is), then replacing one of them with say Navas, Jovetic, or Milner makes sense for the balance of the team, whilst at the same time maintaining the same approach or style of play.
