Fulham Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Re: Am I just blind?

Bit of paranoia methinks. MoTD is filmed 'as live' and so it seems clear that at the outset, the plan was to make Halsey look a chump for giving the penalty, hence the remark about 'if you thinks that was bad, just you wait...'. But in the intervening period they obviously thought that Halsey had had enough grief over the last week (having to fend off tweets for him and his family, rooting for his cancer to return because he possibly screwed up last weekend). They didn't want to provide ammunition for further excessive abuse for the guy. They just showed him getting it wrong within the highlights.

And as for picking on Vinnie - I don't have a problem with that. His decline in performance levels is one of the reasons why we are not as invulnerable. I don't know why this is the case but the truth is, he's a bit off as are a few other players (nice to see David Silva seeming to get his range back a bit yesterday). We won ugly yesterday, let's not pretend it was anything otherwise or whinge because MotD got that bit right.

And I think the comments about the strip were meant to be humourous and the main gist of it was to slag off the Liverpool third strip (not without some justification).

Re: Am I just blind?

If you pause the so called penalty, as he took a dive Zabs was 2 feet outside the box, it's not rocket science. Also Halsey did not point to the spot when it happened he just raised him arm, which means for some reason he changed his mind

Looking forward to my camel steaks tonight. Over here, they are as common as veal in your neck of the words. Just better warn you that I will be coming to the Sunderland game, my first City match since I left the UK for the Middle East back in August 1998.
I hope it pisses down

We'll let you know......

Re: Am I just blind?

Don't know why Zabaleta even risked gettin' involved with their player ..... David Silva was close enough to have cleared the ball.

yes definitely did not deliver the decision with any conviction.

Re: Am I just blind?

Both Ray Parlour and Rob Lee (Goals on Sunday) were adamant that the Zabaleta "foul" was (a) not a foul and (b) outside the penalty area. It was strange that Ben Shepeard appeared to suggest that "because Fulham were playing the Champions" it was ok for them to try and gain any advantage they could in whatever way they could. Chris Kamara just looked slightly bemused. The bottom line is, it's hard to blame the referee when the onus lies on players not to cheat. Until players take responsibility the referees will always be put on the spot (excuse the pun)

Garcia might be slow but he has great stamina.
He ran the longest distance yesterday for a city player.
5.58 miles.

Zabaleta and clichy were 2nd and 3rd.
Now that is a shocking stat to me. Have to go watch again. I really like him and his calm ability on the ball and decision making. But I feel I need a bit more from him. Just a little bit.
