I'm on the Cup Direct debit scheme so I feel able to comment on this without being biased.

I've always been on the Cup Direct debit schemes but others that I attended matches with were not. Until this season they were still allowed a certain amount of days to book their own seat.

Now that privilege has been taken away and I don't know why. Why not have two days open to allow season ticket holders their own seat and then go on open sale to all and sundry after that?

The club has to remember that not everyone can join Cup Direct debit schemes because their work/location may mean attending midweek games is not something they can guarantee.

Similarly, the club, I believe, now sell home tickets on the first day to every single upgraded Bluecard holder at the same time. They do not allow a day or two's window for those who have accumulated more loyalty points over the years to have first dibs.

Unfortunately the loyalty points system has been destroyed this year. People can buy loyalty by purchasing platimum cards, and points accumulated over years now mean bugger all for either league or cup games unless you are a seasoncard holder who has signed up for all the Cup Direct debit schemes.

I'm afraid we have now almost gone the way of United and their compulsory purchasing of cup games. I dare say many Blues that once mocked United for their ticket sales policies now approve them on the basis that we are doing it.

Absolute poppycock.

If we had so many "loyal fans" then the club would not have been embarrassed into the changes with the woeful turnout in the cups last season. They had to do something and they have not precluded a single fan from purchasing a ticket to a game (home or away) yet. They have all gone to general (SC) sale have they not?

No one is forced into buying anything, unlike at the rags and you are basically upset that someone else can sit in "your" precious blue plastic seat if you don't call up quick enough. May I be one to say "grow up", you are not guaranteed your seat, enjoy the excitement of moving a row to the left or right.

Yet another, "woe is me and my club", "the club was better back int'day", "it's all about the money now...." post. The club is closer to the fans than it has ever been and I have no problems with them looking at ways to increase revenue and or attendances. We are still ridiculously cheap when compared with our league rivals (and even some Championship clubs).

If I could post the clapping pic from my phone, I would.

Spot on mate, some people are so full of shit.

Wait until we get to the cup finals (notice my use of plurals!!!)

All the people who arent on the cup scheme will moan then when they are worrying about getting a ticket!

Why do people get sooo protective over sitting in 'their' seat. FFS live a little and sit one row behind :)

Agreed. I view the purchase of a season ticket without any cup schemes in effect a rental of the seat for the league games - the club still owns 'my' seat.

As a season ticket holder in this predicament I really enjoy getting a chance to enjoy different areas of the ground for Europe, view it as an opportunity!

No. Far better to have a good old moan and reminisce of the good old days under Swales, when the club properly cared about the fans.

I think it's worth remembering that not everyone is in a position to enable them to commit to every home game in a cup competition.

Be that due to the date of fixtures clashing with work or family commitments, or simply, because they can't afford to commit to an unknown number of games with City withdrawing money when they please.

It has nothing to do with loyalty for those people.

City always used to include a window to purchase your Seasconcard seat for a cup fixture, always, I know this as I used to purchase mine in the reservation window before I was able to commit to the Cup Scheme three years ago.

It isn't unreasonable to expect to be given an opportunity to purchase your regular Seasoncard seat for a cup game, and this simply strikes me as the club trying to strong arm more blues towards the Cup Schemes, and that, quite simply, stinks.

But it's nice to know that the old 'I'm alright Jack', knobhead attitude still perseveres with some blues.
