The Spoken Portuguese from Brazil is similar to Spanish and vice versa, even more so in writing and punctuation. GJ and the Spanish speaking players will understand each other just fine..... Interesting that Sane and GJ have become BFF's though, by all accounts they go everywhere together!

You could see their bond on the pitch on Saturday. And you could see Yaya giving Jesus a lot of love as well. I had thought initially we needed to use him sparingly and ease him into the league and that he'd be more likely to excel in Europe because the refs will give him the free kicks he'll look for. Then I saw him out muscle the Palace defence and latch onto a nothing ball and I thought fuck it, get him on the pitch for every game!

Him and Sane will lift each other and gain confidence from each other, both have huge ability and potential. I hope they can take Sterling with them too, he seems to suffer from low self esteem at times more than these two do - I don't think Jesus even knows what low self esteem or self doubt means!

It's been said by other players for a long time that Touré is a leader and mentor in the group, but this season it's really, really apparent. He seems to be close to both Sané and Jesus, and he's come out to the media and said some encouraging words about them.

As for Jesus not knowing what low self-esteem is - neither did Sterling before the summer of 2015! I think Sterling's is bouncing back, although it's still a little fragile.

For me, hes one of two, at a push three, who could lay claim to have performed at a world class level during his time here, that type of player will sniff a mile off what is in front of him and in turn they will gravitate towards him.... When yaya is happy, magical things happen, this season is far from over!

As fans we need to help Sterling bounce back. I think any player going through what he did at Liverpool would feel the same way and lose their confidence. Rodgers sold him out, the fans crucified him, he was criticised when playing for England and City and the media haven't left him alone since.

He's definitely re-building his confidence but he needs our support to get him over that, and playing with confident players in a confident team will help. Having him on the pitch with Sane and Jesus will cause so many problems for the opposition.

If they look to mark Sterling they'll just leave space for the other two, and vice versa. This is what good teams have in their locker. Add in Silva and De Bruyne and Aguero and there's so much talent that given time and space will destroy the opposition.

It's funny how a couple of young players can just lift the feeling around a club, for me, after watching the side on Saturday I've just got so much renewed optimism about the future. I can see what Pep is doing and I have complete faith in those running the club. Particularly when you see how our academy is performing. Things right now might be up and down but they're still largely positive. If we win our next two games and Chelsea lose both of theirs we're in the title race again, a winnable tie in the FA Cup and CL and this is Pep's first season.

Sterling made a few poor touches on Sat, his head dropped a little bit and there were a few groans from the crowd but he still fought to try and win the ball back and had the confidence to make the run and score.

It's really noticeable how much happier he is, isn't it? Sam Lee noted it on twitter -

We'll probably never know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it emerges in an interview or autobiography that after his brother died he just didn't want anything to do with football, and needed something drastic, like being told he was a fat git throwing away his legacy from a man he respects as much as Pep to snap him out of it.

Now he's acting like a guy who enjoys his job.

I kinda wonder if the whole YaYa/Seluk thing was about a change in mentality from YaYa seeing himself as above the team to becoming a leader
within the team - that the likes of GJ can feed off. Someone who can help 'polish' GJ's raw talent, without stifling it (which 'english' coaching doesn't
seem so great at).

It's only been 115 minutes but it's been a near perfect 115 minute start. This helps us out on many different levels. One that might be overlooked is that it proves that GJ could legitimately be selected to start over Aguero ALREADY. The strength, holdup play, workrate, and that ASSIST was a clear indicator for me that he's ready and ready now.

This gives us 25 or so games to figure out if Aguero is in our long term plans. Personally, I think Pep already knows that he isn't but it should now be clear to Aguero that he needs to fight and prove himself and start producing results immediately. The quotes about Sane, Jesus, and Sterling being the future in three years time doesn't help the case for Aguero either (reading into that to a degree for sure).

There's no way Aguero leaves. His commitment to moving back to argentina in 2019/2020 makes him unsellable, as no club would pay a fee we would accept for a player who'll only sign a 2 or 3 year contract.
