I noticed too he is running with the ball like he used to in Brazil...this ,basically is a bad bad sign for defenders over here cos he has a lot more tricks up his sleeve ,aligned to his sublime ball control, than he has shown since being over here...

This lad has crazy potential, which some of us could see from day 1....

And his bravery should not be understated too..ive watched proper hard core defenders b ack in brazil kick lumps out of him,and also at international level, when he was no more than a kid he took a battering, but led the Brazil forward line with some aplomb, never once hiding...and in fact, even as a kid openly wanted to mix it with older tough defenders...
What a player we have in our midst....taking nothing away from Sergio's undoubted right to be labelled our No.1 striker.

In Brazil, the typical game involved Jesus being fouled pretty much every time he got the ball, some of them red or yellow card level challenges & pretty much half of them not given as anything, even the bad ones.

If he didn't chuck himself over when fouled, he never got a free kick full stop, so he basically got the ball, got fouled, threw himself over, holding his leg & the ref would randomly award some as fouls.

Imo, he can go up a level by staying on his feet more over here, as he's a strong, skillful kid & sometimes the ball moving on would be better than winning the free kick ( which he doesn't get half the time anyway).

Correct.some of those(brazilian league/international) challenges made me wince..proper sunday morning 1970s centre half stuff ..and your right..if he didnt go to ground he didnt get any foul given ,and a lot of the time, regardless of weather he went to ground or not,he was completely ignored by the ref.
That flying two footed challenge on him from the Bournemouth player last season, away match, which took place near both the touchline and halfway line...that would have finished quite a few forwards,or sparked them into retaliation ....Jesus winced but didnt react..this is a lad that will not be kicked or intimidated out of any game.Already a world class talent, and with nerves of steel...as a teenager.

I agree with all that, but would add that he has been generally staying on his feet as of late, which has lead to some impressive runs/dribbles through opposition defences, including these efforts and golazo.

Covered every blade of grass last night. Hard surface for his type of game though. Still played well.
