Who would people say is the closest to Jesus in terms of defending and work rate against the teams that are able to test us and put us on the back foot for a noticeable amount of time?

I can't really think of a player that is quite as good or as happy to do the dirty work as him up front. He's also more of a nuisance for opposition defenders than he gets credit for IMO. I hope we get a good fee and I hope others are ready to pick up the extra slack if/when his absence starts to show.
Tin hat ready .....................

I would like to keep Gabby and let either or both Raz or Mahrez leave. The lad loves hard work and has openly stated he likes being a winger / provider.

Having said that I don't want to lose any of our squad and definitely not to EPL clubs.

Yeah, its funny how he gets selected for almost all the big games and turns in performances in them, sometimes match winning.

If we have two new forwards incoming it makes sense that we will lose at least one. The question for me is if Haaland is here, almost certainly he is going to be first pick in big games. That means Gabby would have to compete for a wide position rather than a centre or wide position. He may well feel he will get less rather than more game time (with Alvarez, Haaland and with the world cup coming up....). Even if we offered him better terms would he stay? Meanwhile Raheem is in no hurry, he doesn't want to change clubs before the wc, I feel he will run his contract down and leave on a free. We don't seem to be fending off bids for Mahrez so he is in a similar position. My heart wants Gabby to stay very much. My head says there are a set of circumstances which make it very likely he will go. As long as we don't undervalue him. £50m, no less.

Would be great if he is still considering staying. It looks to me, that Raz is running his contract down for a last big bumper contrac/signing fee. If that's the case, he won't play much next season. I can see why Madrid would want Gabby, just to stop him from playing against them!
It would be interesting to see him link up with Harland - I think that partnership has real potential.

I wouldn’t totally rule out both Sterling and Mahrez sharing equal minutes next season as both are on their last year. Both does still have a chance to extend imo

50M Euros is a great deal for someone with 1 year on contract and who is more of a squad player. It'll get done I'd expect.
He deserves to be playing every week to further his career but just isn't quite good enough for that role in our team.

I would rather see him with Arsenal than Madrid.

& hopefully he can help Arsenal qualify for the CL.
Meh! I have a few Arsenal friends that are total dickheads about their support and their dislike for City. They sour everything Arsenal for me.

I'd rather see him go to Chelsea. If it had to be a potential rival. I hate them the least of all the top 6.

I would advise that we try to curb our enthusiasm and expectations with Alvarez. Let's just wait and see how it goes, the pl is a tough league.
I don't know about bhow he'd perform. But as it relates to pressuring defenders. It's seems to come to him more naturally than it does most forwards. I think he'd take to that role easily.

Whether he is good enough to get games is a different question.

Seems like Chelsea's interest in this guy is serious. I've always said what we need is a mobile forward who can operate across the front line, not necessarily a goal machine, although it would be nice to have both. Jesus would fit nicely into the team unlike Lukaku and a reasonable price.

seems to be the case that he is adamant to leave for more playing time, and if thats the case we need to get a great fee for him especially from PL rivals.

he is a proven PL champion, CL experience, some great knockout games from him overall, hard working, I still doubt he can be a main striker with 20+ goals per PL season, but he is certainly a better option than Lacazette or a young Nketiah....
I think he would fit better at Arsenal than Chelsea. but I prefer him to go abroad if its the same offer we can get and then Arsenal to waste similar amount on worse player haha.

with the arrival of two strikers his only game time would from the wings, where Foden/Grealish kind of occupies from left and Mahrez can only play from right and thats before we know Sterling goes or stays.

I laugh at Dicks like that, they normally listen to talksport then blame City for their own failures. Embarrassments
