Arsenal will pay £45 million plus a further £10m in add-ons for the Brazil international striker with only paperwork and a medical standing in the way of a deal being completed

@pudge

£55m will do well

Granted, I assume the add ons are largely appearance and CL qualification based otherwise were betting against ourselves being less successful

It's done now. Will be sad to see him go. Unfortunately, he never quite lived up to the potential he showed when he first arrived here, in the second half of the 2016/17 season. Still, he's a quality player who will add some real value to Arsenal's squad.

The fee....... we should be doing better, IMO. We still haven't got the selling part of our transfer business right.

LMAO

He would go for free next season.

Gabby,Nketiah and Martinelli will cause many teams problems.

I think Arteta will do very well.
Saka, ESR, Pepe, Raphinhia..

Arsenal is loaded up top. Less so in the middle and defence but certainly no slouches.

Pressure will be on Arteta this year.

Are they keeping Pepe? Thought he'd been written off and was getting sold.
They've got the makings of a young and promising team though if they develop.

Sounds like they're trying to sell him but it will be tough with his wages and complete lack of production.

Thought he looked good for Ivory Coast in AFCON tbf.

Good luck to the lad always gave his all for us, could be a little greedy when others team mates in better positions

He deserves to be top man somewhere that was never going to be the case with us

is that a wind up? the fee seems incredible to me. final year of his contract. getting on for double what we paid for him. i wouldn't quite go so far as to say that we've pulled arsenals pants now and rogered them silly but we've at least slapped their cockney arses. imo of course.

Are you on fucking drugs? £45m with a year to go it more than Liverpool got for Mane who is twice the player.

You've both probably missed part of my point here. We also need to avoid getting into the situations where players run down close to the end of their contracts before we sell. Jesus with a couple of years on his contract is worth 60 million easily. Sane is another recent one.

Sane was set to go but then did his knee was it? Remember watching him go down at Wembley.

50m looks like good business considering how his time at Bayern has been.

That price is good considering he's only got one year left on his contract, but in today's market he's worth a lot more than £45m.
If he had 2/3 years left, with some of fees being reported, he'd be going for £80m minimum.

But he does only have 1 year left so the price if he had longer is moot is it not?

Will Gabriel Jesus thrive away from Manchester City ask the bitter wankers at Sky, as though he's been an absolute disaster for us for his modest 27m fee. Every transfer story is full of jealousy and a negative slant towards us

Arsenal’s problem is mentality - when the chips are down they bottle it.

You have to build a mentality just like building a team and your right this crop haven't got it, but Arsenals real problem is there fan base entitled pricks.

Slightly less pressure at Arsenal and Gaby seems a player may thrive being the main striker rather than playing out on the wings.
I rate Gaby very very highly but I think he's a very emotional person whose game would be effected by the toxic arsenal fanbase should he not set the world on fire immediately, coming from the best team of the last few years. I think the pressure would be far more intense than he experiences currently at city.

Then you work out what was more important? The extra £15m we’d have received selling him last summer or having him available for the last 12 months?

Change of sceneary will do Gaby good and he would be playing more regular football under another familar coach. And with him becoming a first time Dad that would give him a bit more focus.
