Hope he has had a word with Fernandhino..............You get tackled in the PL.
No "diving".....only allowed by Refs. IF it against City.....and then the nearest City player gets a yellow....Doh!

I haven't read the thread but wanted to know when you think he will likely start for us?

Heard people talking about beginning of Jan but is that likely ?

It all depends on how he settles, I would be surprised if we see him before Feb. He has played a lot of football this year, he is moving to a new country and no doubt Pep will want to drill some of the basics of what he wants and expects before he plays.

Gabriel Jesus has told @FourFourTwo that he rejected more lucrative financial offers because he 'appreciates the whole City project'.

Gabriel Jesus: "City are a huge club in a country that loves football and has one of the best leagues."

Gabriel Jesus: "I can’t deny that working with Guardiola helped with my decision. He’s an excellent manager – one of the best in the world."

Gabriel Jesus: I rejected bigger offers to join Pep Guardiola and 'huge club' Manchester City. [FourFourTwo]

Shhhhh. This spoils the agenda of the usual mob - 'He only joined city for the money! They offered him £200k a week more than anyone else!'.

I think there are two contradictory stories about this. One is from Pep, who quite rightly realises that GJ has been running his bollocks off without a rest, for a long time, so is playing down any imminent involvement.

The other is from Jesus himself, who basically wants to play v Burnley ;)

So I imagine there will be a compromise, where he gets a few minutes early in his career but is not in the starting plans.

Problem for Pep, trying to be sensible, will arise if GJ settles straight away, as people will want him in the team & it will be difficult to leave him out.

What a nice 'problem' to have ;)

Indeed.

It's impossible to predict how he will settle, new country, colder, Premier League football etc. But on the offchance that he did actually settle down pretty quickly & produced he level he is doing for Brazil, then imo he'd most likely win us the title. I can't imagine the home games we have lost & drawn so far, not being wins if he had been involved at full capacity.

Is he in training or having a month long break? If the latter, wont he need a mini pre season before he's ready to play?

Yeah but don't want burn out. He's probably gagging to play we do need to look at a bigger picture though.

I'd love him to start V Burnley but it probably would be in his or even the clubs best interests.

If he joins the team in January he's already had a full month of holiday. That's much more than most players get between seasons.

I get the impression he'll play a bigger part then people are expecting, Pep is mentioning him in every press conference, sometimes more than once. When asked if things would get easier when players returned he said yes, we've got fernandinho coming back, then sergio and then Jesus.

I think this is a signing he's been waiting for - more like a 2016 summer signing arriving late than a 2017 summer signing arriving early.

With Sterling in form and Sane starting to click/gain confidence, it'll be a frightening prospect for defences if you add Jesus into the mix.

The pace, trickery, unpredictability, etc, will be difficult to stop.

There's still a lot of improvement in all of those players and I imagine we'll continue to see a lot of missed chances and inconsistency, but once it comes together, which I'm sure it will by next season, it'll be a real treat to watch.

For me I'd be using Sterling/Sane on the right

Kun in the middle

Jesus/Nolito on the left.

So much pace and skill right there.

Tbh I wouldn't mind seeing Sterling, Jesus, Sane as the front 3 on some occasions.

Edit: another possible outcome of the much maligned 3 at the back system, which we will see again at some point, is it opens up the possibility of getting those players, plus Aguero or Kelechi, into the same team, in several configurations.
