I assumed the end of series final Battle would be at Kings Landing between Cersei/Golden company and the mostly human survivors from the first Battle.

It would really surprise me if the undead won the Winterfell battle but it is GoT, you never know?

I suppose it depends on whether the story is fundementally about different human factions struggling to rule the iron throne or humans struggling just to survive?

I think the Night King is aware that going for Bran at all will leave him wide open to any assassin attack. It's better for him to completely conquer Westeros, make an army that's about a million strong, and then go for Bran once there's nobody left to protect him.

I think the night king will attack kings landing and take it and Cersei will get killed whilst the North will win their battle. If Cersei gets killed then doesn't that mean Jaime or even Tyrion is king?? One of them will have to then kneel to Jon.... After that they'll have to work out how to kill the night king.

Lots to come yet and god knows what will happen, I don't think we'll find out too much though until the fourth episode. The next one is pretty much as expected to be a big battle and probably as always with GoT, a twist at the end.

Judging on what the producers have said they'll all just get killed and that will be that!
 
Not sure I buy the Night King attacking King's Landing. There are a few character arcs there that don't quite seem complete, so quickly turning them into the undead seems a waste. I would imagine he's come to the same conclusion that those defending Winterfell have, and he doesn't want to risk himself in battle (he hardly has an army that would refuse to fight for him).

I wondered if Arya was going to disguise herself as a White walker, to use her new weapon, hence her questioning Gendry, what they looked like and what they smelled like. We have had 2/6 episodes already if you assume, battles are another 2 episodes, (one for Winterfell one for Kings Landing), it doesn't leave much time in this final season.

Edit: The person who directed "Hardhome" and "Battle of the B******s" is directing episodes 3 and 5 of this season, (Miguel Sapochnik), you would expect episode 4 to be the aftermath of the battle of Winterfell and prelude to the Kings Landing battle. Last episode to be winding up all loose ends.

Episodes 4 and 6 could just be the Night King and his army mopping up stragglers after winning both battles?
