It means nothing in the long term.

But it does mean that Bale will stay at Spurs this season - just in case there was any lingering doubt about that.

If City were willing to pay £24million for Milner then the price for Bale would be double that at least.

If Spurs were willing to pay £16 million for Bentley,then City would want double that for Ade.

Ade only has one year left on his contract, doesn't he?

Anything more than £10 million would therefore be a very decent price for him.

The "not ready" argument will be brought up but he'll be ready a lot quicker if we give him some opportunities (even as a late sub off the bench), and reduce the risk of him following Roman and inevitably (it seems) Guidetti out the door.

There was a very small chance Gareth Bale could of ended up at City. Emmanuel Adebayor could of part of the deal which meant the two players swapped clubs with money exchanging. What scuppered the deal was Redknapp being sacked and the new coach didn't want Adebayor at the club.
