Johnson would be less likely as they don't have a shortage of wingers even if they lose Bale. This IMHO could have some truth with Adebayor though.

List Tottenham's wingers.

Lennon, Pienaar,Danny Rose, Bentley (if Redknapp goes) Andros Townsend plus they can get width from their fullbacks. Is this a fishing trip?
Dos Santos, Falque

If we sell Dzeko we will buy another striker, hopefully RVP.

Imagine, we'd have the 2 best strikers in the league.

RVP scores about as many headed goals as Henry, meaning he doesn't score many.

To be fair if you have Walcott on the wing your not going to be getting any balls placed right on your head are you.

Haha, true, but he'll never be known for his aerial ability because it just isn't very good. Would he be a good replacement for Tevez? yes, Dzeko? no.

Rose and Bentley definitely aren't good enough for them, Townsend is young and not yet reliable and Pienaar is certainly on the way out. Lennon and Bale are their only capable wingers, hence why they were both overplayed. The winger situation was so dire that they played Kranjcar wide more often than Pienaar or Rose. Johnson and Adebayor makes the transfer a lot more appealing to Tottenham.

Maybe but what Adam Johnson lacks is pace which is what Tottenham rely on. I will be probably wrong on this one but I don't see them really going for someone like AJ, Sunderland possible but his wage demands seem to put them off.

Maybe Spurs have an abundance of pace, maybe they need something else for a change.

Bale made one of the best crosses I've ever seen, I think it was in our 5-1 win over them, it was a low volley cross to Crouch's head but Crouch put the diving header wide. My jaw dropped when he did it.

Not to forget the one v Stoke for van der Vaart's header in the last minute. Astonishing cross. He's a phenomenal footballer.

RVP won't score as many goals for us as he did last year because he will not play as many games.

I personally think that Aguero, Balo or Dzeko would have scored a similar number of goals if they had played the same number of games as RVP.

Just dont get this Bale obsession

For a supposidly "world class" player - monket boys performances this season have been distinctly average - he did not stand out in the Spurs team and did not influences games on a consistent basis

The transfer fee plus wages would be similar to Aguero a player whose performances and match winning goals and consistent high level of performances made the difference as did Yaya - Vinny and Hart

Bale has shown fook all other than a few games in the CL against Inter.

He would flourish in our team. Next season when we're away from home and teams are sticking 11 men behind the ball he will be perfect player to unlock defences. Beating a few and freeing up more space for Silva and Yaya.

No teams will put 10 men nehind the ball compress the space and Bale will get the same Flak as AJ currently does

Bale should have been a stand out performer for the Spuds hw wasnt - teams that win the prem have players whom oerforman consistently well over a season - Bale and others did not and that is why Spuds crashed

If we as a club are going to break a British transfer record between prem clubs which is what it will take to get him i would seriously hope we would spend it on a top top player whom is proven to deliver at the top top level

Thats why we paid top money for Yaya and Aguero - players whom when it matterd delivered and justified their wages and transfer fee and Bale quite frankly is no where near then = he is just fookin fast

bale is worth nowhere near what levy is saying.if he is worth 40mil then what are our players worth

This could be up there with the didsbury dave post of 2009 regarding tevez 'he's not very good'

He's just fast lol

Johnson gets flak due to his inability to get away from defenders, when bale beats the full back he stays gone, he doesn't put a bad ball in either by all accounts.......

In this team bale would become the most dangerous player in the league, up there with the tranny for influence!!!!

He is a quality player not for one second did i imply we was not - he is a pro footballer in a top 4 club of course he is quality - BUT he aint world class - he has been consistently average last season and the combined transfer fee which is going to be somewhere near what we paid for Aguero and maybe Yays both players whom are consistent - perform at the highest level and stand out is ridiculas and implying that Bale is anywhere near these players is nonsensce

As they say a fool and his money are easily parted

We should do some scouting and see what else is out there

Has he got any tricks? Or is it all about pace with Bale? Because If it is all about pace he's 1 injury from being average

I can't understand all this "he's not worth £40m" talk, in reality no one is but as we know a player is worth what a team will pay. It's not about ability when these prices are quoted,it's about a team (Spuds in this case) not wanting to sell a star player & therefore trying to prices out interested parties. It's Spurs saying "if you really want him then pay the daft amount" they hold the cards in this situation unless Bale publicly puts in a transfer request!
There is also no doubt he'd fit in our team & create more chances, not to mention he will pass defenders. IMO I'd love to see him in a City shirt but as others have said, I'd rather have Mancini sign long term first.

the lad is 22 years old put him in our side and with a little time within the team and with mancini you will see bale is not just about pace!

if there is one player id have for the coming season it would be this lad,he has it now but potentially in the right team will become world class hopefully that will be us.

Bollocks - read some of the Spuds forums - Bale has hardly been going past teams this season also

Teams that defend with 10 and compress space will negate much of Bales pace (like AJ now he will be faced with two defenders and no space to run behined the defenders - at least AJ has a trick or two)

Tevez had a reputation well earned befoe he joinned us - a top international player proven in the prem top performer compared to Bale's CL performances two seasons ago which is what most people remember him for

Tevez stood out at West Ham even though collectively they were a poor team

If his performances have suffered whilst Harry whored himself out to the FA, it's hardly surprising is it ? He's just wasted another year of his life.

Then dont read it then

For a player to be considered world class at very least i would expect him to perform at the higest level on a consistent basis be that CL - World Cup or Europeans Championship - but he dont and is very unlikely to do so - he is a quality prem but someone of your such high intelligance should realise that thereis a whole fookin world outside the Prem
