Gareth Bale

I would be really interested in a Spurs' fans opinion of him. Let's be honest, everyone on here gets their opinion of Bale from the media, and watching him on Sky. At the minute the whole of the English media believe Bale is the next Messi/Ronaldo, so you'll never get an honest opinion of him.

Therefore, what does an honest, matchday going Spurs fan think of him? Must be someone on here who can answer that.
What do you think? He is by far their best player so I presume they adore him.

It seems they do....<br /><br />-- Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:35 pm --<br /><br />

Gareth Bale is pure class and would improve ANY team in the world. Tottenham are the most overated team in the league. I think AVB has done a great job with what he has at his disposal. Apart from Bale NONE of Tottenhams players would get in City or Uniteds first team. If you had Tottenhams strikers to aim crosses at you may struggle for assists and as they have played one up front or even him upfront he has taken responsibility.

He is a good player and may improve any team. But, he is not a Real Madrid standard. Besides after being forced to pay exorbitant transfer fees for Modric who is clearly rather mediocre in Spain, Perez is not interested in getting any player playing for Spurs. It looks like he does not like Levy's method of business.
Of course he is

I would total £80m this summer on just Bale and Wilshere, chuck in a Dzeko and some of our others, to keep it relatively realistic.

Two players who are only young and only ever going to improve.

More importantly, our domestic rivals know the financial drawbridge, thanks to their own efforts, is coming down.

Forget all this talk of strengthening our rivals.

Those two would make us formidable for years to come.

Similar level to Bale, half the price -> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/real-madrid-winger-angel-di-1718408" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... di-1718408</a>

Was dynamite against the rags the other night but has apparently had some problems with Moo Moo.

Both would be perfect, addressing two of our positional weaknesses.

Both being the poster boys of British football wouldn't do us any public/media harm also.

As you state,a large chunk of their fees could be balanced with our outgoings.

I'd offer Dzeko to both Spurs and Arsenal + £15m for either player. I agree the other must be gone for too.

Sell Tevez if poss and get Jovetic and jobs done and sit back.

Outlay would be £70m-80m + Dzeko but then we have tevez to sell, Kolarov, Sinclair and maybe Nasri.

New tv deal and savings in wages from outgoing contract ending players would cover.

We live and hope.<br /><br />-- Wed Feb 20, 2013 11:52 am --<br /><br />

I'd have him here for sure but I'd take Bale over him due to nationality, pace and set pieces.

For us to attract Bale and Wilshere, something needs to change imo as money alone is no longer a carrot we can dangle.

Jack last night stood out without a doubt against a very strong Bayern side and kept injury free, will go on to become a real player.

..... WILSHERE..........SILVA..............BALE

...................AGUERO.......CAVANI.......

Entirely workable in terms of finance, based on the £20m for Mario, in addition to using the likes of Tevez, Dzeko, Nasri, Barry and Lescott as potential sales or makeweights.

This team would win... A LOT!

It's got the right combination of drive, pace, endeavour, power and professionalism.

It's best part of £700k a week off the wages, inc Mario for that little lot. It's not rocket science.

Fuck splurging on Neymar, Falcao and their like.

At least let's make an attempt at signing the two best British players in the country and throw in Cavani as the icing.

Pay them all £200k a week, give them something to really think about, we'll still save money and be set up long-term, rather than having to address things every year.
