Gareth Bale

spurs simply have to sell.

there's enough money there to transform them into regular top 4.

Not sure about the top 4 bit. But they have to sell, that's for sure. Unless Levy is stark raving bonkers.

What would improve a team more?

Negredo &
Navas &
Jovetic &
Fernandino

or

Bale

spurs should do a deal that they will sell him next season for less money because that team with Bale will finish top 4

But they also cost a lot more, so improvement would be expected.

Agreed unless Arsenal sign some decent players can't see them finishing above a Spurs & Bale. Not many decent strikers left for Arsenal to sign and it looks as tho Liverpool won't sell them Suarez.

The foursome came to about £85m in total, isn't that what Madrid are rumoured to have bid?

True but grossly exaggerated, I doubt any of those players on more than £100,000 a week basic pay. Spurs have more or less signed Soldado who is on par with AN, similar with Ferna and Paulinho Lennon is a level below Navas and they don't have anybody like Jovetic. Because spurs don't pay good wages they will never be seen as anything more than a stepping stone, and they will continue to lose their better players.

-- Fri Aug 02, 2013 1:30 pm --

Spurs were battered at Arsenal two years in a row, somehow I doubt spurs will breeze past them.

Who mentioned Spurs would breeze past them? And because Spurs were battered by Arsenal at the Emirates twice that means what exactly? Spurs were down to 10 men both games not many teams would beat Arsenal at the Emirates with 10 men.
