I agree he was not at his best against Villa don't know just wasn't. However he has been consistently one of our best players this season. There is something about him being in the team that makes me feel safer.

And before anyone say's, no i'm not jumping on the band wagon.
I sit in 142 and have had my season ticket for more years than I can remember.

Anyway, back to topic! I think Gareth Barry is an outstanding player and will only get better with time, he reads the game, has a great engine and breaks up play. Great player to have as part of our squad.

One of the main reasons why City didnt perform like they can on Monday night was due to Barry having an off day, up until the Villa game Barry has been outstanding for us.
I think the OP needs to give Barry more credit, simply one of the best midfielders in the country without a doubt.
