I dont think Gareth Barry is all that.

I dont think he's a bad player,I just dont see him as the be all and end all.

I think he was supposed to pick up that rag **** for both goals and didnt.I also know he was at fault for Dunney scoring the other night.

He has given away some horrendous passes.

He also seems too deep.

Also his concentration seems a real issue and he looks dazed a lot and tends to ball watch.

As of now I'd have Nige and Ireland as my midfield ahead of him...and in the role he plays I'd have a fully fit Johnno ahead of him(I know its asking a lot)...and I'd have VK in mf ahead of him.



So i ask, is it just me or is he a weak link.Remember I'm not saying he's a bad player,just that he isnt all that.

The expression 'luxury player' wouldn't half get some hammer on here!
 
His distribution, work rate and breaking up play are second to none. He also chips in with his fair share of goals - what is not to like?
I tell you what - we must of seen some of the shittest midfielders' in City's history over recent years, and now when we sign a England regular, a top class midfielder, STILL some people aren't happy. Fuck.
 
I rate Barry as one of our best buys and if your thinking he wasn't so good in the Villa game, well that's easy explained, hard for him to go back there, he spent 12 years playing for them and they gave him a load of stick.
I'd drop De jong, before I'd drop Barry.

I see flaws in his game for the role he plays.

No these flaws arent on a level with Didi Hamann,Reyna,McManaman et al but they are flaws nonetheless.


To be a world class side he needs to improve these.

Just because we are winning doesnt make everything perfect lads.

Yes his work rate and ability to break up plays is very good...but I do think he tends to pass too defensively and Nige is already in there doing his part.
