But in the ladies game the one thing is you don't have much time to settle in, lose a couple of games and forget winning the title or top 3 because the others don't lose many all season,

Walsh Stanway Weir Bronze are your guarantee of a top 3 place or even winning the title, any clubs lose 4 players of that quality will be struggling, even mid-table teams of last season have improved and are better placed than city this season,

Manchester city have lost their soul and backbone of a team with 6 or 7 leaving or stepping down from the game,
replacement can not just come in a fill that GAP, it's 4 to 5 years of bedding it and understanding the system and manager and club,

man city will struggle this season, now the question is how bad, or what is seen a bad season ? Mid-table, and dare i say Bottom 3, even relegation
I take it you didn't watch the game v chelsea then ?

There's no way that we'll get relegated, far too many very good players, the squad needed refreshing, and it looks to have been done very well to my eyes.

Saw this thread bumped and thought he’d been sacked. Shame, would’ve been good news to start my day
Sorry mate, would have left it if I'd known I was getting anyone's hopes up like that!

You say "top players leaving", 3 retired from football all together having either won a major trophy, or hadn't played for the club in a while. The only 3 I'd say were still "top" were Walsh (world record fee for a woman), Stanway, and arguably Weir. Bronze was poor last year for me, and didn't seem particularly interested in some games.
Bronze has had loads of criticism on here, but along with Walsh and Hemp she was comfortably one of the biggest parts of how we played in possession. She's clearly miles past her best but you look at any of the stats or read analysis from people outside the City bubble and there's a reason people think it's a big loss, it's not just because she's a big name, there's a massive hole on the right compared to the last couple of years!

I don't disagree about the signings looking pretty good, so far anyway, but surely you judge any refresh by how both parts of it are handled? i.e. if we've botched the outgoings (and that doesn't exactly look great) the incomings need to be even better to make up for it

Why hasn’t he invested in central defence. We look awful there so far this season.
You mean you're not excited to see us choosing between a 34 year-old Steph Houghton and Alanna Kennedy?!

We also have a left back to pick there too, don’t forget!
