No he changed title half way through
That link contains:
“In line with the strategy that Mark Hughes and I presented to the Chairman in February, we have created a new position of Football Administration Officer, which will ensure that the coaching, medical and playing staff at Carrington and the Platt Lane Academy get world leading support at every level.”

HE PRESENTED TO THE CHAIRMAN - Call him chief exec or exec chair, he was never the club chairman!

He was Executive Chairman before Abu Dhabi take over, if I remember correctly
No, you rememeber incorrectly, he became CEO in 2008 when he came to City under the Thai tax dodger.

Exec Chairman like I said, and so did Thai. Not CEO in 2008 as you said.

How hard is it?
Your gaffer is your boss just as a CEO is often referred to as a an exec chairman, you'll see him referred to as CEO more often though, the title his predecessor had.

-- Fri Sep 09, 2011 11:59 pm --

Before Abu Dhabi take over, Dr. Thaksin was chairman and Cook was executive chairman.
After take over, Khadoon is Chairman, and Cook is CEO.
Wrong, he's been refered to as CEO from day one, a CEO being refered to as an executive chairman is not unusual, there wasn't a moment when it has changed at all and it certainly doesn't validate the claim that he was our club chairman at any time.

Give up.
You'd might as well if you can't understand that Macintosh was CEO and Cook took over his job, both could be called exec chairmen also if you like, common practice.

Exec Chairman was his official title and implies he was taking on the chairman's responsibilities.

It was not like TS was around much.

Emailed him a few weeks ago about his Tory-style points-for-pounds scheme. Didn't respond. Maybe someone hacked that email too!?

He's free to support Birmingham against us now in a week or two, rather than pretending to be a Blue.

Easy come, easy go.

Big difference between being Chairman and Executive Chairman/CEO, Chairman oversees the CEO.

At the time Thaksin bought the club, he was looking for exec chairman since day one.
He want to be Chairman to involve in the meeting, but he cannot present all the time and need someone who can be his number two that why he look for an exec chairman.
The first candidate (cannot remember the name) refused to take the role.
Cook is second candidate having Kia as his agent.
After Abu Dhabi take over, Khadoon replace Thaksin and Abu Dhabi decide to have only one chairman so that Cook became CEO.

They are two terms that mean the same thing, it means he presided over the executive board, his role never changed.

thread is about Cook resign so we should cut other thing short.
Cook had the power of Chairman in the first day he joined the club, later on his role was downgrade to CEO to give way for the new solely chairman.

What impress me is he broke up with his agant in the sake of the club benefit that say everything all about him

Arguing about nothing as usual on here.

When Cook came he had the title Executive Chairman. He ran the club day to day and Mackintosh, for the brief period they were both here, reported to him.

At some point after that, he had the title CEO. He ran the club day-to-day.

The two titles mean the same thing, his position/title didn't change chairman/ chief of the executive board FFS
An over paid yam yam who stuck his foot in it on a daily basis.
