Gary James interviewing Noel Gallagher about City

Saw him at Crystal Palace away a few years ago when Kelechi scored the last min winner. He was just in with the fans I think that day as was stood near the bar with Mike Pickering. Gets mithered to death though for photos so no wonder he goes corporate most of the time.
Wonder what would have happened if Ronnie had arrived at the bar?

Part 3 is now live:

In part three we discuss Garry Cook (that’s the Garry we refer to at the start of this), both of us (separately) meeting Khaldoon, earning the Champions League, earning success/buying success, opening up the Premier League, Oasis influencing support in the 90s, a Zurich based Oasis influenced band called Mania and inflatable bananas. This will run for five days with a section added each day.

Really enjoyed these interviews, thanks Gary.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I’ve always tried to interview fans, including celebrity fans, throughout my years of research and writing because we have experiences that are often overlooked by the media. For me everything that surrounds football (and City of course) is as significant as what happens on the pitch.

That really comes across Gary. A particular highlight for me was talking about the inflatable bananas and the reference to Helen's Bell in one of the earlier episodes. As you mentioned, these memories are as significant to me as things that happened on the pitch and are part of what makes the club so special.

Some good memories of the 80’s listening to that. McNab’s penalty miss against Shrewsbury in injury time in 87!! We’d not won away at all in 86/87 and stood in the away end I thought this is when it comes to an end. Fortunately we ended at Bradford a few weeks later despite throwing away a 2 goal lead in the game.
No doubt Noel has a very detailed knowledge of City past and present.

Noel was meant to be on TS Breakfast this morning but was apparently up all night partying and too wasted to come on, Brazil called him a lightweight!
