Noel is a blue, he always bigs City up at any given opportunity. He's also not a bad musician who bangs out a decent tune.
In Ireland, we are well known amongst each other as a nation of begrudggers, no one likes to see someone from the same town do too well for themselves , maybe its the same complex in Manchester, though I don't remember anyone having an issue with Curlie Watts tbfMore to the point, he is in musical terms on a par with the first team. His success in his field is up there with anything Sergio or Vinny have done in theirs. If Noel Gallagher was a footballer we’d all be singing ‘he’s one of our own.’ Instead there are people who say ‘who does he think he is.’

I think it definitely helped that you're almost exactly of the same generation, and have the same references. So you were able to use a sort of shorthand with each other.

We hate it when our friends become successful....On the whole I’d say No - most Mancs are proud of the tremendous history we have in the arts and sciences. There is however an element that resents those who have done well. I suppose that’s true of most places
