Gas & Electricity

It is worth remembering how Thatcher solved the winter of discontent when a whole raft of public sector workers were on strike. She gave them a rise of 25%!

Brewdog has said it will close six of its bars after "spiralling energy bills" made the future of the sites unviable.

A spokesman for the company said: "All staff have accepted roles in other Brewdog locations. There will be no job losses.

"This is part of the regular review of our portfolio.

"With rapidly increasing costs including spiralling energy bills, these bars were a substantial distance from being viable to operate."

How can the French cap EDF at 4% and we can’t? Just seen a cafe who’s bill had gone from £12k to £100k! That’ll be them shutting :(

80% of the electricity produced in France is done by nuclear and the price of producing electricity via nuclear has barely gone up. We instead burn gas for electricity and gas is now extremely expensive to import.

It's impossible to cap our energy at 4% or else your energy supplier won't exist in 6 months time and the lights will go out.
