My mate had just come back from a three week trip to Oz, he was telling me Cairns has a Tropical Rainforest so the climate there is always on the warm side even in winter, never heard that before, he has two sons, two brothers and a grandson out there, sounds like they have made the right decision.

How much will train fares go up if inflation is at 18%?

Will they have to go up exponentially because the cost to power them will be going up 500% ish in October?

My wife's employer (major insurance company) gave all employees the option of working from home permanently and spent a fair bit in setting it all up.

Then, all employees had to report to the office 1 day per month for meetings with management, team briefs etc. - not unreasonable, although this was previously done (daily) over teams.

From next week, it changes to 1 day per week, then from October/November it's 2 days per week... So we're being hit twice with increased energy costs AND 2 days commuting costs per week.

All down to tax breaks from the government to encourage people into the offices and city centres spending dosh apparently.
