This Gazzeta report is a load of crap, we have already denied bidding for Sneijder but they continue rambling on about it

No we haven't.

And the Gazzetta report is anything but crap.
I'm pretty sure that we denied bidding yesterday

'Sky Sources' had us as denying a bid, but that doesn't mean anything. We aren't ever going to admit bidding.

Nothing on the official site to say we haven't bid for this player, nearest they came to if memory serves me right is a source close to the club. IMO I don't think it matters whether the club has officially bid for the player or not. When the Aguero interest broke directly from Mancini, then it seemed the media said we then entered into informal negotiations, then they reported formal negotiations. If this deal is following the same lines I suspect the first thing that we want to know is whether Sneijder would play for City.

Second as a ball park figure how much will his wages be. This is where I believe we are up to, The rags have said no to his wage demands and the article yesterday seemed to suggest that his agent had given the green light. Add in the fact that the two clubs were in Ireland together and the specualtion increases. Add the fact that Tevez wants out and met Inter officials on holiday. Add the fact that Mancini (privately) that he doesn't want Tevez anywhere near the first team. Add the fact that Inter in the past has expressed an interest in Tevez, there is enough fuel to stoke the fire of specualtion that a "swop" deal could happen.

If this deal comes off I will delighted, if not we move on to other targets. IMO I can see him coming to our club, not saying that that will happen but I am more optimistic. :-)

Inter director Marco Branca opened the door for Wesley Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o. “Inter won’t keep anyone who doesn’t want to be here.”
The two players have been repeatedly linked with Premier League moves to Manchester City or United.

On Saturday the Italian media even suggested a €36m deal with City for Sneijder had already been struck.

“Have City contacted us about Sneijder? Being one of the best players in the world, it’s clear there are going to be enquiries,” Branca told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“However, we have not yet worked out a price-tag. Wesley has Inter in his heart, so it seems that both he and Eto’o said they want to stay.

“After all, Inter won’t keep anyone who doesn’t want to be here, nor do we want to sell someone unless they are happy with the situation.”

Some new info from the most trusted of sources:

City have been forced to distance themselves from this transfer until they can speak to Tevez on Monday and receive certain guarantees about his desire to leave; that he won't just reject a move to a club outright because they won't pay him a billion a week or whatever. This is separate from the Sneijder deal, I imagine that it is related to having two guys on large wages.

However, the Sneijder deal is very real and money has already been discussed.

The Gazzetta leak was purposeful from the Inter side, and was done to grease the wheels with the fans and not to smoke out any other competition.

Sneijder is very much open to coming to us, in fact he is very much open to go to anybody who will meet his wage demands.

It is worth been optimistic about a deal for him, and we will know more in the next few days. Branca's moving the goalposts in his last two statements should show how real the deal is.

We believe that we will get Nasri AS WELL AS Sneijder, it is not currently an either-or situation.

Still there. You really are quite transparent.
