The prime minister is to be routinely driven around in a German-made car after no British alternatives to the current fleet of Jaguars could be found...
Jaguar seem to have discontinued the XJ and XF saloon car ranges and are concentrating on SUVs.

Lowest turnout for 20 years. Which seems to suggest an apathy from the plebs. Or, that a lot of supporters of the two main parties pretty much guessed what was going to happen, and simply couldn't be arsed going out to vote. "What's the point? We're going to win/get battered anyway". Labour took one third of the vote. That wouldn't be a ringing endorsement, in my eyes. The poll came across as a "get the Conservatives out" move, moreso than "get Labour in". And, as Labour are (were?) the only viable opposition (Lib Dems? Reform? Seriously?), they pretty much sleepwalked into power. And, thanks to the peculiarities of the FPTP system, they gained a huge 412 seats. That's pretty much two thirds of the total, off one third of the vote. Amazing. Anyway; best of luck to them. They have a huge job ahead of them, getting the UK economy back in shape. Along with education, health, roads etc etc. It'll be a long haul, but they'll have at least two terms in power; I can't see the Conservatives turning around Thursday's shitshow in the lifetime of one government).

The Tories did their best to reduce turnout. I really don't know how they got across the message that "we're an awful bunch of chancers but so is everyone seeking election" but it was certainly successful in getting people not to vote at all. Not many people went the full Worsley that things would be worse under Labour, but the legacy of the last 14 years is corrosion of trust, and fostering the notion that anyone seeking public office is doing it for the public good rather than personal aggrandisement.

@maxwellblue Will you start working a few more hours a week please, my kids need new school uniforms for September and we're thinking of going Disneyland Florida cheers.
Sorry mate, I'm afraid I don't work at all and all my spare cash this week is going on having the Ferrari serviced. Maybe ask one of those nice people that will be flooding our shores in the coming mths.
