I think the idea is it would be a redemption route for most of them, selflessly coming back into the fold to save the Tories from the clutches of the Brexit Party (as currently being engineered by the Comrades.) That prospect may even persuade Corbyn to go with his own basic instincts and support the FTPA dissolution after all.

Having lost another tonight Johnsons chances get slimmer and slimmer - unlike him

That is a myth, they don't fuck off, don't buy the nonsense. As for Greece its economy is growing unlike ours.

You have been suffering from a serious dose of Daily Mailitis, I suggest you never read the rubbish again and think like a proper Socialist, you will thank me for it.

The evidence says otherwise. The most recent/similar event to cite is Hollande’s implementation of 75% tax in France: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....eaving-france-please-turn-out-the-lights/amp/

Not an apples to apples comparison, but to blanket state that people won’t “fuck off” if taxes are ramped up is simply not true.

What would be good would be a proper study into the optimal level of taxation (certainly payroll and corp tax). Optimal taxation would probably not be 50% or 75% - possibly even a lot lower. The point behind optimal taxation being to identify the rate at which the treasury receives the most tax take. Which would be great for our creaking public services, the NHS, etc. Not sure about anyone else, but I’d be very happy if I knew the tax rate I was subject to offered the best possible value for our great country.

Optimal taxation wouldn’t win many votes because a lot of the electorate just want “the rich” to be seen to be paying “their fair share” (read: anything over 50%/getting a good kicking for being horrible “rich” bastards).

They must have known when their football club was named.
I used to cover them as a young reporter, they were then known as Cheadle Rovers - they played in orange and my byline was 'Tangerine'. This used to clash with my own football so I got a friend to go and then phone me with what had happened after I'd finished my game. Unfortunately one match he couldn't go and I completely invented a report only knowing the final score - the club complained to my editor and I was nearly sacked. Looking them up it seems that "After they folded in 1965 Manchester City took over the Park Rd ground and then Grasmere Rovers, who had been groundsharing at Glossop, moved in and changed their name to Cheadle Town - the large main stand, much patched up, still dates from that era."

However in spite of the Conservative Party becoming the Brexit Party (or maybe because of it) and their week of successive humiliation they are now 10% ahead of Labour.

No surprise he wants this election as soon as possible.
Seems that whatever Corbyn does he appears to be totally unable to appeal to many people who have previously voted Labour and have deserted the party because of him.

14% in the poll I’ve seen. Maybe, just maybe, the British people want to leave the EU.
