I don’t know. They seem to get up the nose of angry old men, they seem to care
They got up the noses of millions of working class Northern men for sure, of all ages. These creeps are despised, other than for around
an hour and a half of some insipid film or other, yet they think everyone will love their politics because of that.
They don't, they most certainly don't.

I’m probably similar age to you as 79 was the first election I voted in. I was always a Labour voter, I liked Dennis Healey, Neil Kinnock and John Smith. The party was going nowhere until Tony Blair came along, he had some decent policies but Gordon Brown undermined him and since then it’s been an absolute shambles.

I didn’t mind Cameron as PM but May and Johnson are not of the calibre required to lead this country. The problem is Corbyn became so unpopular in this election that traditional Labour voters have deserted him in huge numbers, Brexit played its part but electing Corbyn as Labour leader was a big mistake, if another leftist replaces Corbyn it will lead to a generation of a right wing government, we need balance and Labour has to reform, again.
Centre left with common sense economic policies please. There were some good policies in the Labour manifesto, like tackling big business tax avoidance, the problem was they were swamped by impractical ideological ones that would have crippled our economy. Now we have a Tory government that I can only hope looks at the mistakes it has made in the past and becomes much more socially aware of peoples needs across all of society.

This is what I meant about how Tory media messaging cuts through to the population.

Boris got numbers wrong on policing, nursing and hospitals but you won't find jokes like the above about him.

Why? Because the Sun, Mail and Facebook groups didn't call him out for it.
Rubbish I saw loads of interviews with all of them she was a fucking car crash, then trying to blame it on her diabetes, absolute bollocks, hopefully will see the back of her as well.

I am amazed that anyone, other than the most blinkered Corbynite expected any different a result?

With a strong, honest leader at the helm ....someone like the late John Smith, this election would have been a landslide in Labour's favour. But they went with their 'dream team' of Corbyn and Abbott (Abbott ffs!) and drove voters away. Totally their own silly feckin fault.

After 19 years of Tory rule I was happyish when Blair won, I dare say if Johnson is dethroned in 5 years by someone similar I'll take it.

But things are broken in the capitalist system and it seems incapable of dealing with the environment, as well as the loss of jobs due to technological change.
Things are not broken in the capitalist system, that far left rhetoric is why you keep on losing elections.

At least now we know parties can win elections by lying, and the public aren’t bothered by that. Now that politicians know that despite their lies, they can still win, I wouldn’t expect any improvements in honesty from them in the future.
