I don’t mind answering this at all mate.

A) the first thing that happened was the manifesto was realised, in the past 24 hours I’m on record as saying the 2017 was okay and something I liked. I have felt we need invest now and it’s definitely the time to do so. What’s happened though now is Labour have moved a step further to the left and released policies that I think are just ludicrous and down to a socialist ideology, rather than doing it because it’s the right decision.

B) On to antisemitism. This is maybe naivety on my part but things went quiet on this front and the word out of the party was they were getting a grip. It then came into light they’d just ignored hundreds of complaints whilst claiming they’d done something about it.

The above has pushed me away and quite sharply too.

Ok, cheers. FWIW, I agree with both those points. The spending plans looked fantastic on paper and if it was 30 years ago, I might’ve fallen for it, but Corbyn buttering up to the IRA was a huge red flag for me too. His handling of the anti-Semitism issue turned me away from him as well. Thing is, I couldn’t vote Tory this time round either - they have similar issues with Islamophobia in their party and I thought Johnson’s decision to prorogue parliament was bang out of order. That was baffling as I don’t think he even needed to do it anyway to get his Brexit deal through. The Lib Dems have been my safe haven in the previous 2 elections but Swinson saying she’d just cancel Brexit even without putting it to a 2nd referendum turned me away from them, and Farage wants us out without a deal which isn’t the type of Brexit I want. In the end, I turned up at the polling station, briefly thought about voting Green for all of about 3 seconds, and did what I said I was going to do for months and that was to scrawl NONE across the ballot paper.

I think the result could be a blessing in a way. While Johnson’s large majority can be dangerous on the one hand, it should mean he’s not as reliant on the far-right within his party, plus there’s little appetite for far left politics in this country so hopefully we’ll see Labour move towards the centre-left and if they can get a competent leader with minimal baggage then they should be in a position to pounce on any Tory fuck-ups.

It's interesting looking at the vote share compared to 2017. In 2017 the Tories got 42.2% of the vote while Labour got 40%. Yesterday it was 43.6% and 32.2%.

So people haven't actually flocked to the right-wing Tories. They've flocked away from Labour and most of those have actually gone to the Lib Dems, who increased their share of the vote from 7.4% to 11.5%.
In 2005 Labour were returned to power with just over 35% of the vote and a 66 seat majority. Quite scary really how 1st past the post can create a government (and its policies) with just over a third of the vote. BTW the turnout was 61.4%

The good news is we're Corbyn Free for Christmas!
Note to Momentum and other Labour/Remainers going forward: Keep calling Leavers Brexitards, Gamon, thick and Red Tories, and it will actually result in them voting Tory or not voting Labour. I know, crazy isnt it!
As to the person who came up with the idea of having a 2nd referendum with Remain vs Remain (No EU Council vote) on the ballot paper, please get yourself a pistol and blow your brains out. An idea guaranteed to annoy Leave voters.
Finally June Swainson still thinks Revoke was a good idea as well. Still we won't hear from her for 5 years.

Fuck knows Bob, just pin up a map of Europe on the wall, blindfold yourself, spin round three times then throw a dart and see where it lands

Which country? England? Then yes. Scotland? No. Northern Ireland. Hell no.

Your reminder that we are a union of four seperate countries and two out of the four are at odds with the other two.

Baroness Warsi doesn't agree with you two. "In relation to Johnson, who prompted outrage by writing last year that woman wearing burqas looked like “letter boxes” and argued in 2007 that Islam caused the Muslim world to be “literally centuries behind”, she is more sympathetic, describing him as a “centre-ground, liberal Conservative”.“He’s made stupid remarks and I think he thinks he’s too clever by half. That’s just part of that well-to-do white privilege that comes in certain spaces, but I don’t think it’s pernicious … I don’t think he’s Islamophobic. I do not think he wants to go out and attack Muslims simply for being Muslim or wants to make life difficult for them. I genuinely don’t believe that. He’s no Michael Gove.” Maybe it's some other species of racism you have in mind?

George, Wether he would of won or not, ive read on heard exactly what he's said in tbe past.

He's a fuckin Racist

For what it’s worth...

There is no doubt that this is true and it says everything that is wrong with British politics. He has been smeared endlessly, by a right wing media based offshore and determined to protect their tax avoidance status. Even the great Noam Chomsky described the antisemitic slurs as a creation of the British press. He has been a conviction politician since his earliest days yet is expected to shift with the wind to win votes and pilloried when he stands his ground. We get what we deserve and what we get has been a disaster for a decade.
