I would imagine that the majority of Labour constituencies gave the Leavers their slight majority and the Parliamentary party have ignored every vote cast in the referendum as irrelevant! Both political parties have contributed to the shambles that we have at the moment. Too many parliamentarians getting on their high horses and trumpeting to anyone who would listen whether or not we know who they are!

I was going to write something long, boring and profound, instead I'll opt for....

Left to Parliament we'd be Norway.

The Tories don't want Norway.

They want a cross between Singapore and Dhaka, with a Trump Tower in Downing Street.

Hence they fucked Parliament off and now...

Parliament is fucking them.

That might be why I said "if ..... then I am mistaken"? LOL.
Back to capitalism then. If I remember you rightly, you’re an advocate of very little debt for a country. The UKs $2 trillion seems to exercise you quite a lot. “It’d be worse under Labour” and other associated malarkey.

Very capitalist USA debt? Over $21Trillion. Small government, no NHS and low taxes. Surely that’s not possible?

As I suspect, PF, they all just one big bunch of fuckers!

I'd love to know where you read that China has more billionaires in the first place, as every source I can see backs up that America has the highest amount of billionaires over any other country
I can't remember mate. I didn't make it up, but without trawling the internet I don't have a link. I'm quite prepared to accept it was wrong, but given I did hear the stat from somewhere, and given the Forbes numbers I quoted above, I find it very hard to believe that the US is so far ahead. I would imagine its quite close and that China will overtake soonish. When you have an economy that's complaining about "only" growing at 7% per year, combined with their pretty unrestrained capitalism then I would say that's actually inevitable.

Huge government subsidies to specific industries (namely military), they're also the opposite of small government, they just choose to plough money and resources into things like spying on their own citizens and their allies rather than healthcare, infrastructure or education. Higher taxes than many supposedly socialist leaning countries too once state and federal taxes are combined.

I'm by no means a financial expert but I'd imagine it's a case of people measuring what a billionaire actually is

I said all along that a quick EFTA + Customs Union type deal (open border with ROI/NI) would have gone through parliament if Tories and Labour had sat around a table and agreed on the least worst option.

The reason this did not happen is the ERG got into May and laid sown some almost impossible conditions and she herself was determined to end FOM. Labour themselves came up with 6 tests where the only thing that would pass was full membership of the EU. The red lines speech was practically written by the ERG and the WA is basically a deal whereby we end FOM, pay over the bill and sort out nothing else. This would not have flown even with the original Tory majority - TM worked this out and it went downhill from there.

The only way we brexit now is by tories deploying seriously underhand tactics.

That was the obvious compromise for a narrow Leave win which would have equally pissed everyone off but we'd have all got over it and it wouldn't have done too much damage.
With the right messaging it would have been done and dusted years ago with us restored to our pre-EEC leading role in EFTA.
Too late now.

Blue passports and jobs a good'n.

That is where I genuinely thought we would end up in the days after the result.

I largely agree. Although, in the immediate aftermath of the referendum, the attitude of most labour MPs and Labour supporters seemed to be “you broke it, you fix it”. Perhaps understandable, but there wasn’t an immediate serious offer of cooperation. It was only once May had been taken prisoner by the erg that Labour started making serious noises about a combined approach.
