Thinking about it, you may have some point.

When the election was called (and all the sad twats such as myself, Len and Genie hurried on to the thread), the split was very very even.

It's only widened to such a Labour lead once all of the (plastics is entirely the wrong label so I'll say) 'less entrenched politically' voted (who may not normally visit off topic so much).

Although as someone you'd consider right wing, my perception is that the political threads are usually dominated by those on the left.
Those you call "less entrenched politically," I think it'd be more accurate to call "those who are normally disillusioned with the lack of choice in possible alternatives and hold disbelief in the intentions of those options to follow through on promises."

Polls close at 22.00, there should be an exit poll on all major stations as they close.

First results normally Sunderland about 23.00, then all through the night.

No thats not me,i'm a labour member but i can't vote for corbyn and they are so far behind the tories here that it really won't matter anyway
I don't think they are, I think the turnout for them will surprise a lot of people. Corbyn isn't a dictator, he can't get very far without party support - the commons and lords still have to vote for him to pass anything. You aren't voting for Corbyn, you're voting for Labour's policies.

I think it's the fairest way - each region needs it's interests equally represented. Just the options are usually shit and blur into one.

We could have it as it is now, but have a president from the party with the most votes for international affairs (and their own ministers). I think it's fair to address domestic and international matters separate.

The problem is say I decided that I would vote labour the Tory majority where I live is huge they poll about 52% labour gets 20 something. So for 48 % of the electorate in terms of influence they have nothing. In an extreme circumstance labour could get a huge majority of the overall votes but the Tories could get a landslide victory.

The system is hugely flawed and leads to apathy amongst voters. Also if you live in a poor part of a well off constituency you're doomed for life on local issues. And vice versa which goes without saying.

Yep. Couldn't believe my luck when I looked on the ballot paper. Had all the usual no marks, then George's name just leapt out at me. No chance he'll win, but in amongst the other shite on there, he was the stand out option.

Ronald McDonald would be a stand out choice doesn't mean you should vote for him.

You are spot on. If you live in one of the stronghold constituencies you might as well set your vote on fire for all the good it will do.
