You are spot on. If you live in one of the stronghold constituencies you might as well set your vote on fire for all the good it will do.
Just cast my useless vote....it's a ridiculous system but it's kept in place for a reason , turkeys & Christmas.

Voted Labour this time. Voted Lib Dem at the last 2 GE's but they missed a trick this time. However, even if they hadn't made another referendum vote as a pivotal point of their manifesto I doubt they could have matched Corbyn's campaign. Their leader just doesn't have what it takes; Nick Clegg was so much better.

Ronald McDonald would be a stand out choice doesn't mean you should vote for him.
I'm absolutely fine with how I voted. I wouldn't vote Labour, as although I don't mind Corbyn, I do find listening to him a bit like listening Rick from the Young Ones, and I also can't get past anyone who would pick Diane Abbott for the front bench. Wouldn't vote Conservative as May is quite slippery, and can't string a coherent sentence together (she's good at reading from a script though) - I reckon Trump would kick her arse in a debate. The Lib Dems want another referendum, so utter wankers for me, and absolutely the most untrustworthy of any of the major parties. The other independents were just nutters. So, Georgeous George it is.

Any vote helps to continue to make the case of reforming the voting system. I completely get the sentiment though.

The problem is say I decided that I would vote labour the Tory majority where I live is huge they poll about 52% labour gets 20 something. So for 48 % of the electorate in terms of influence they have nothing. In an extreme circumstance labour could get a huge majority of the overall votes but the Tories could get a landslide victory.

The system is hugely flawed and leads to apathy amongst voters. Also if you live in a poor part of a well off constituency you're doomed for life on local issues. And vice versa which goes without saying.
Aye but no system suits everyone, you have to draw a line short of voting on 2 MPs per seat. Every constituency needs representation.

add in the UKIP and SNP vote share last election and it shows starkly that the system is an utter nonsense. How many people look at the greens or the lib dems and think fuck that they can't win. Plenty of people will vote for a party that they dont even like. But while the big 2 get enough MP's to make life very comfortable for themselves they ain't rocking the money train.
