General transfer rumours

Fucking hell. It's bad times when even the rags are doing business better than we are.

Dier is bang average, and will cost them £60m+.

There's nothing to worry about with that transfer, I suspect he'd have been on Spurs' bench next season anyway, he's already 3rd choice CB and they're buying a new midfielder to play with Dembele and Wanyama.

I think a lot of people are seriously underrating Dier and I'd happily take him at City. Versatile, strong and great with the ball at his feet, what's not to like?

Dier wouldn't get near our team. He's slow, he's average with the ball and his versatility is playing in the back line or 10 yards ahead.

Like I said, if he stays at Spurs he'll be on the bench because they're main target is someone to replace him. Wanyama has made him redundant.

He isnt good enough to nail down a first choice spot in any position, much like many versatile players his 'jack of all trades, master of none' attributes are also his weakness.

And at North of 50m......nah.

Dier to United hahaha?! 50m???!?!?! So they're signing two players without a first touch between them for 140 million pounds. Oh deary me.

I am as desperate for us to make signings as the next bloke but not if we go down the same route as United of paying huge fees for bang-average players. Our transfer dealings seem prolonged but at least we are targeting top class players. I am sure we could make half a dozen signings today if we were throwing silly money at garbage.

United could easily sign Lindelof, Lukaku, Dier and Perisic for around £215m let that sink in.

I expect City to sign Mendy, Walker and another right back/CB on top of what they already have. £170m spend for quality additions.

Oh there's no question that price is insane. But Dier is better than Fernando, better than Kolarov, better than Delph, a lot younger than Fernandinho and can play right-back when required...

I would think that you`re either a Rag or Spurs fan on the wind up if you think that.He would certainly not get into a City team.

Christ, as soon as someone disagrees with the status quo they're immediately a rag. He's not worth anywhere near that but he's better than Fernando and Delph for CM, better than Kolarov at CB and he can play right-back.

But the fact remains,he still isnt good enough. He may be younger than Fernandinho but, currently,i wouldnt want him replacing him.

As for the @oakiecokie comment,it was a bit silly.

All the shit Journos seem to have been briefed at Arsenal being very confident at signing Lemar for 45m+ (Mail, Mirror etc)

It may have been silly but to suggest that the lad is a good buy at that price is ludicrous, hence my take that it must be a Rag trying to put a spin on it,to justify that amount.

Have you been drinking? Where did you see me say he's better than Fernandino? I said he was younger and a few years working with Pep who knows how he could progress. Bernardo Silva isn't better than David Silva/KDB, but he's younger and has time to develop. You saying we shouldn't have bought him?
