General Videogame Thread

Been playing Fortnite on PS4 since downloading a few days ago. Had great fun and actually managed to win one of the solo Battle Royales last night. Its easy to consistently survive into the last 10 of most matches - just have to avoid engaging unless necessary. I pretty much hide my way into the final stages.

Yea it's good fun. I'm still shite though.

In what way? Are you struggling for staying alive or for getting kills? I'm not the best at shooters either, so this game is nice in that the point is to survive and not be judged on kill count :) try landing in the isolated wooded zones and practicing your building, collect resources, pick up a few guns and see where it goes :) in the one match I won, I killed only one person and he had a rocket launcher and a tower - I got to the bottom of his tower and because he only had the rocket launcher, he had no choice but to come down for close quarters and it was there I won the fight.

I can stay alive, like you, I tend to shy away from the action, especially dropping into suicidal places like Titled. It's just when there's action, my aim is pretty pants with a joypad, I'd be better off with a mouse lol - also my hearts pounds and puts me off!!

My crowning moments so far are a 5 kill round in sniper-only mode, and a squad win in high explosives.

Anybody ever used a cloud gaming service?
Would love a decent computer rig but can't afford to blow £500+ on one

I haven't used one myself but there was a fella in work yesterday talking about an Nvidia cloud based service that is currently in beta. There will be a fee eventually but could be worth looking into. It will make PC gaming more accessible to people who can't afford it, or who don't understand how to build one (like me).

Yeah I read about that mate, seems a tad too expensive though as it's about £1 something per hour.
I've got an Nvidia shield TV but the games available aren't great on that particular service either
Simplay looks like a good option

Anyone played much of FIFA 18 and FUT? My lad has started playing it and I bought him a few of these gold packs, 300 fifa credits per pack and the best ones you can get. Basically got fuck all in em and extremely reluctant to spend any more for him.

He sees all these YouTube clips where every pack they open they get great players, but is this just a scam by EA to get people buying? How the hell does anyone generate enough money to buy players for massive money?
