General Videogame Thread

Cheers the fighting part I always loved the you have a go they have a go looks like you just keep hitting them and they hit you. Might wait and buy ff7 instead.
They look committed to this fighting style mate, 7 remade will likely be the same, it's enjoyable though.

Yeah its not turn based combat any more, hasn't been for ages, but to be honest with you I think that system makes it too easy/exploitable. FF15 is like playing a movie - really visually nice, my only complaint so far is that the characters seem a bit too "normal", they don't seem to have the variety that was in earlier games. That said i'm a 25 year old man now and not the kid I was when I first fell in love with the series. Still can't wait for 7 remake.

Anyone who played ff15 yet? Is it any good? Looking at some of the game play it looks alright.

Amazing!

I've not had this much fun from a FF game since FFIX, it's a lot more open then what 13 was, the map is only small but then it always has been with FF, the dialogue is funny at times, the battle system is brilliant (the one thing I had doubts about), and the side quests are forever going.
Hunt quests are similar to those of the Witcher (without the tracking), I'm 65 hours into it and only on chapter 9 of 15, considering the main story is only 30 hours long it gives you an idea of how much else there is to do in the game.

Cheers for all the comments on ff15, Last FF I played was 13 I loved it, it was you have an attack they have an attack! This all out attack I'm not feeling it but I'll probably end up getting it when its reduced, I'm still playing skyrim remastered and modern warfare remastered plus I haven't even looked at infinite warfare yet! Have to say disappointed with skyrim might be because of the other games I've played since I first played it and playing the Witcher 3 which is a stonker of a game.

Imagine it in VR! I don't usually get excited for games these days but Resident Evil 7 amd this have really renewed my interest.

We got the game No Mans Sky back in August (my sons and I) & we did enjoy it initially. However, the criticism online did spoil things somewhat, as the company did promise things before release that did not seem to be in the finished product.

However, we have kept playing it every now and again and last week there was a massive update (on PS4) and there have been many improvements. For example, different game modes and base building.

To be honest I can't really explain how exactly it's better - I'm not great at these modern games - I used to like Elite on the BBC! However I just enjoy watching my lad play it, and he insists it is x10 better.

So if you have teenage kids and did not risk it in the summer - it may be worth considering for Xmas (I have seen it for sale at approx 20 quid recently, because of the bad publicity) but it is worth a look if you enjoy a big challenge and something different from FIFA, CoD etc.

Hopefully it will continue to improve, especially multiplayer, and one day a VR version would be amazing.

The vast majority of scores are 8s, 9s and 10s.

As with ico and Shadow of the Colossus this game won't be for everyone so you can see a few average/poor scores in there.

However, it seems that The Last Guardian is a critical success.

Can't wait to play this on Friday.

Back playing The Division with a few mates. It's balanced now and quite good fun. We've also bought a Feed the Beast Minecraft server. Modded for added pleasure. Haven't touched BF1 for 2 weeks.

Tempted by Skyrim now I know you can play it in 3rd person, but wondering if I'm going to have enough time to sink into it?
