General Videogame Thread

COD 4 remastered multiplayer looks amazing...! Is the only way to obtain this game by purchasing infinate warfare deluxe or will COD 4 be available as a standalone?

 
The Witcher series is coming out in ultimate all singing and dancing editions, 60GB a pop. How fucking big are these games, why the filesize, any gamers give us an idea cheers.

Think it's down to screen resolution, textures, sound qualities and the fact files aren't been as compressed as they use to be, I think the less files compressed the quicker it takes to load without straining the CPU which allows for faster frame rates and other jargon.
Games are especially large on the PC due to developers wanting people with slower PC's compared to the high end market to be able to play said games.

I'm waiting for the first ever 100GB game, it can't be long around the corner now.

Haha fair do's tricky, ahh right Sean, so this is why it gets given the beans. I am going to assume the obvious that only the best liked games get the bells and whistles version, fair enough as it must cost a bit to do.
 
Cod 4 remastered looks absolute shit. They've quickened it to put it on a par with current COD games which is goes against everything most people wanted from cod4. The reason i and other people i know were considering getting it was because the gameplay back then was a lot better than the shite games we get now. It will sell immensely well but there's going to be a big backlash against them when people get it and realise they've fucked it up.

Battlefield beta is incredibly disappointing too imo. Was excited for a more true to the times WW1 game, a game where tanks aren't all that useful, infantry dominate and aircraft are little more than recon planes or kamikaze planes. Instead we've just got battlefield 4 reskinned and given the battlefront treatment. Looks and sounds authentic but plays exact the same as bf4. Nothing has changed from the core battlefield gameplay, tanks still absolutely wreck everything.

There's still time for them to make changes to COD4 and they've had people out in LA testing it this weekend, so i'm hoping they get feedback from those players on what they need to do. Old youtube gamers like Hutch have been playing it so i'll see what their review is on it. Personally hoping we get the old COD4 just with better visuals, although I know they can't help themselves, tweaking unnecessary stuff. I'll buy it because I spent so many days (actual game time) on it back in high school and I know it'll be better than the last 4 or 5 COD's. As for Infinite Warfare, going off the multiplayer trailer, thats going in the drawer collecting dust.

As for Battlefield, completely in agreement, tanks look far too dominate and need to be at least restricted to 1 or 2 maps and easier to destroy. I don't mind vehicles and cavalry as a means of transport. It would be much better if they just made it more of an on foot infantry game, remove vehicles and increase player count in games due to map size.

We'll have to see, still plenty of time for both to make adjustments.

A half decent squad can wipe a tank out in thirty seconds.

Tanks are only OP against lone wolves.

They've already said that Cod4 plays exactly the same as the old one. So I doubt they'll speed it up.
 
I've Been playing battlefield 1 beta. Why does it take a million bullets to kill someone. Seems abit fake to me. Saying that though the graphics are amazing.

Has anyone played Rainbow six siege. Game of the year for me. Shits on cod etc... Love that game.

Haha I don't think so, but just looked more into it and you have to buy ships with real world money which is scandalous...... One guy has spent £30,000 on micro transactions. So I'm not sure but if someone was to rob your ship I think you'd have to buy a new one, which is a cunts trick.
 
Not got round to playing the Battlefield 1 beta yet but the videos I've seen on it look a bit like a let down to me. It doesn't look a bad game (in fact it looks a very well made, fantastically well animated game), it just doesn't look the game I was hoping it would be. It doesn't look nearly as WW1 like as I'd hoped, more like a modern shooter with a WW1 skin stuck on it. Hopefully I'm wrong as I was really looking forward to it
 
I like the BF1 beta. Good pace to it all and riding the horse with a sword is great fun. A few glitches, disappearing weapons, menu screens not showing ranks sometimes, but on the whole good fun.
