General Videogame Thread

Played an hour of Cyberpunk last night on PC and it seems okay but I find it a bit clunky and the glitches make it a bit weird.

Even in the first minute I could see plants appearing behind walls and you just get a bit distracted from the story. The controls are also a bit of a pain for me as I've been playing MW for the last year, especially using the hacking thing.

The foundations are there though but there's no doubt they rushed it out. I was hoping it would be a GTA killer but it's not there for me yet.

May give Cyberpunk another go tonight as the missus has her virtual works party, but I didn't get very far into it on ps4 anyway.

Chose the street rat route, got to the training missions and then it turned into a FPS so I got bored. I know that's only a part of the game though so will try again with it.

As for glitches, playing on my 4 year old PS4 not seen too much other than floating towards the next goal objective if you leave the controls alone after finishing a checkpoint. You go all holy ghost and just float across to the next story point in slow motion.

Should add, I'm on the 1.02 patch.

Quality of the graphics is less than I expected however, partly that's the trouble with hyping up something so much but also it's doesn't resemble the trailers I saw and was expecting to experience, and everything feels much darker than the pc gameplay I've seen presumably so they can reduve draw distances etc.

Cyperpunk 2077 on PS4. Was hyped for this game...I still hope it delivers with future updates but damn, not living up to what was promised so far!

Bout 8hrs in and I'm only just beginning to get interested in the story. Slow burner for sure (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). I'm not used to RPGs so the choices are pretty overbearing atm, inventory control is tedious, gameplay nothing special (so far).

The glitches, crashing, graphics etc. is by far the biggest problem. Taking me out of the immersion continuously. Maybe better experiences for next gen and PC users but for us PS4 owners, be prepared.

Could be another Watch Dogs.

Edit. Trying to continue to play through but almost impossible with the half hourly crashes. Frustrating. Hope you enjoy the loading screen!

I’ve been following that thread you posted @SebastianBlue and this is pretty damning:

Seems it’s not really good at anything.
The dialogue comment is just plain wrong.

Yes you get 4 or 5 options but which one you choose does effect the way people react to you and has consequences later on in the story and as much as I love Fallout 4 the dialogue options don't really matter.

Shooting is fine and a lot better than most RPG's each weapon feels different.

Empty map? See my screenshot below. That's just Waston district of Night City and there is a tonne of stuff to do. And most of the side missions are excellent.

There is definitely issues with the game like the bugs and graphics and the crafting system is unbalanced and everything to buy in the game like cars and rare crafting materials are super expensive but CDPR can address those issues.

It just seems a lot of people are just jumping on the bandwagon and trying to pick apart the game and criticise it on everything.

I'm really enjoying it so far and probably so are a lot of other people and I know it's going to be improved over time

Watched a fair bit of it and honestly, it doesn't impress me at all. If this wasn't cdpr and didn't have the hype behind it, I don't think its a game I would give a second glance.
