General Videogame Thread

I watched the first few minutes of the ps5 reveal but found myself thinking "consoles are just not as good as pc" and turned it off. Ever tried tracking a headshot when in ads with a sniper on console after pc? It is just to slow even with high sensitivity thus is instantly very frustrating. I also have a 144hz gaming monitor now and a rig that can play at those frame rates so dropping back to 60fps feels clunky.

That's the very reason I simply won't touch an FPS on a console, there's no match for keyboard and mouse, certainly analogue control sticks don't touch it. And as an ex-PC player, I find myself so easily out-manoeuvred, out-gunned and out-classed by the kids who have grown up with controllers!

Think so boss yeah, not played bf4 for a while myself. Unless you can heavily modify servers it should be still like that.

Iwo Jima, Wake Island and Provence are the maps everyone seems to love on bfv. Conquest is brilliant on Iwo Jima imo but i think most maps are decent besides fjell (murder box if enemy have a good pilot) and panzerstorm (for tank lovers). They removed the sweet spot to so shit snipers can't one shot you like they could on bf1. Medic players still suck though, they will let you bleed out whilst being stood right on top of you hehe.

Bridge on twisted steel is good for sniping so is Hamada and Iwo Jima. You also get fools on the top of the bridge structure in twisted steel, easy kills for snipers. Aerodrome is a good map, you can snipe around the map or go to C and get into the meat grinder. Devastation and Rotterdam are both nice maps to imo.

STG is good but recoil goes up to the right, Gewehr 1-5 with a 3x is a sweet loadout on assault to, so is the selbstlader with a 3x imo, many don't use it though because you need to be decent with the follow up shot. If you go as sniper the enfield is a fast bolt action. ZH and rsc are good for a semi auto sniper. Kag is my fav though, very satisfying headshots. Has fastest bullet velocity along with the kar98.

I would jump on wth you but i am on pc sadly. Tell us what you reckon, would be interested in your opinion on it boss, enjoy :-)

What do you make of the rumours of the next BF being a BF3 remake? I’m dying for a BF game that brings back the fun factor. All the BF you tubers have jumped ship to warzone I’ve done the same as I can’t be doing with BF5 and Dice’s map designs.

I found the exact same thing when I bought COD4 remastered. I was great at COD MW and MW2, always pretty much the best player in the lobby, kill death ratio averaging about 2.5 iirc. Then went to work for a decade, came back, and I'm that chump who loses every firefight he gets into.

That was always the test imo of how good you were, what happened when you and another player stumbled into each other unexpectedly. Anyone can do well by camping, or finding good spots to pick people off, but the true test is who is faster on the draw. I went from pretty much always winning that to losing every time.

Sad times. Single player games are my future
That’s why I’ve gone back to world of Warcraft, stick some tunes on and grind for mounts and achievements. I got the free BF2 on PS4 and it looks stunning I’m still crap though. We’ve just gut the daughter a Nintendo switch she loves mario kart can’t get her off it, we tried Luigis mansion she doesn’t like it but I’ll be having a go once she goes to bed.
PS5 looks great I’ll get one for the uhd player and a few single player games but maybe a new Star Wars game if they do one.

I think it could well be due to the love for the game, bf3 has a strong core player base still but it is 9 years old now. A bf game that gives a strong nod to bf3 seems very likely. Especially as they messed up bfv with the lack of Russian involvement and the general mess they made of the launch and other stuff. This would go a long way to say "sorry" to the player base and gain good favour once again.

If they fix stuff like server stability, which they seem to have with recent titles, and other glitchy stuff it will once again be a cod slayer.

For anyone who plays battlefield...

Some idiot gave the oppo team a tiger the other day and their guy who nicked it was shit hot in it. Nobody admitted to it in chat but half our team were calling them allsorts because their tank guy was mincing us all up with our own tank for the rest of the round.

Funny as fuck!

Persona 4 Golden has just dropped on Steam. Played it on the PS2 back in the day and is easily one of the best JRPG's I've ever played. Only the original FFVII is as good as this for a turn-based JRPG In my opinion. Not Played Persona 5 as I've not got a PS4. You'll easily get around 100 hours out of this and if you are a completionist your looking at 200+ hours. Its only £15.99 as well which is a bargain

Jackfrags just put a video out saying he thinks it won't be a bf3 remaster. Something tells me he has been given a tip off that it won't. Using Jack as a proxy would be a nice gentle way of knocking those rumours on the head. I can't put my finger on it but I am pretty confident he has been given some info from dice saying no bf3 remaster.

He did not say it as gospel but it did come across as a bit insider info-ish.

Boxed off Fallen Order last night, just in time for me to me to be able to jump on to TLOU2 next weekend. Got it downloaded and sat there staring at me on my PS4 dashboard atm!

Had previously registered interest for XSX & PS5, and would get whichever impressed me the most leading up to launch. But with the current rumours on price, and no official word from MS/Sony on it. I'm finally thinking about dumping a fair chunk on a gaming PC & getting a PS5 a few years down the road. This would be my first, non-work, PC so it's quite the step for me!

More for the people interested in the how the new ps5 is doing all the new crazy shit and how in some instances thanks to new custom hardware it can for certain tasks out perform the fastest pcs at the moment.

Also explains why it's pointless making comparisons too.

Yeah he’s normally quite food for BF info. What ever the next game is, they need to make battlefield enjoyable again.

Quick advert for the Itch.io bundle for racial justice, which ends in 12 hours.

$5 for 1700 games.

Including (expensive and "Very / Overwhelmingly Recommended") Steam stuff like;

Celeste
Night In The Woods
Hidden Folks
Nuclear Throne
Oxenfree
Pyre
Pikuniku
A Short Hike
Fossil Echo
OneShot
Minit

and SOOOO many more. Great stuff not even a month old (Sign Of The Sojourner).. some so recent they are still in early access on Steam (Beacon). Dozens more hidden indie single player gems, action RPS from retro magic like Lenna's Inception, to the indescribable and amazing Dujanah. Local Multiplayer stuff, from RPGs like micromages, through things like Tonight We Riot, to frenetic post pub fair like Unfair Jousting and Dangerous Duels. FPS games like Heavy Bullets..

Top rated perv fests Visual Novels like Highway Blossoms, recent and highly thought of adventure / walking sims like Milkmaid Of The Milkyway, Walden... One off craziness like Art Sqool. Lots, and lots of craziness, alongside more conservative fair like EXTREME MEATPUNKS FOREVER.

Puzzle games, chess games, card games... even physical card games (print your own, or print the rules), and some really amazing TTRPG. How about Chess-puzzle TTRPG Card-game Two Kingdoms? Comics, books. and OSTs. MORE AND MORE CHOICE! THIS IS YOUR BIRTHDAY AND CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS!

Honestly, just going through and picking out the really good ones is enough fun to justify the tiny price. People are sharing lists, making websites, and all sorts. I've been at it for days, I've picked nearly 200, and then you stumble on something like Depth Of Extinction.

So, so much stuff, and so much of it even available on Mac and Linux.

Ok, that's the sales pitch. By know, I think you know what to do. Pay the $5 (or more), and head here, or here, for categories and recommendations - or you could just give up on life and moan that you wouldn't play 1600 of them... or if it had been 1700 Steam Keys, I might have bought it, but suddenly I realise that I wasn't anti-DRM, I like a little DRM, just not Epic Store DRM... anwya I wouldn't have DRM free games on my Windows in case some Chinese SJW's hacked them and stole my Battle.net account.

Worth it for Celeste alone. Astonishing deal that.
