General Videogame Thread

The beta for FM17 is out. Brahim Diaz with 5 star potential, lovely.

I got FM 16 - I don't know what it is(maybe I've grown up) but there isn't the same enjoyment as there was in previous editions. The new F1 game is another story. I love it!

Mostly been playing Hearthstone and Diablo the past months. Looking forward to the new season of Diablo which starts on friday. Just need Blizzard to get their shit together on Hearthstone and make it competetive again...

Mafia 3 has a great story and setting but the gameplay is boring and repetitive. If it isn't a main boss mission, the rest of the missions are all nearly identical.

It's slowly gone downhill since CM 01/02 IMO. Way too complicated these days like lots of sports games. As PCs and consoles have become more powerful the people writing games have been in a position to create ever bigger and more complex games and along the way they have lost sight that it is more important for a game to be fun than "realistic".

Not slowly, rapidly when the split between SI and Eidos happened. It is far too complicated now, it takes too long to test a formation and their are too many thing to change

I do not need/want a computer game that is so complicated and deep that I spend more time looking for a physio than I do playing the matches. F1 is the way forward

I still quite enjoy playing CM 01/02 with all the latest patches and data updates. Absolutely the peak of the genre IMO.

Agreed, although 00/01 is pretty much the same game and almost it's equal. I actually prefer it without the updates tbh, 01/02 is the golden age of football in my mind

The new call of duty beta is out for all PS4 players this weekend if anyone wants a dabble. Should help me decide if i want to buy it or not.

In preparation for the big game tonight had a cracking game on PES. The second goal by the AI is bloody lovely.

Would you settle for that score?

It'll be a very long time before games have truly realistic movements. I think because we see these (rather complicated) actions every day that anything amiss we notice straight away.

It's the best we've for at the moment though. I find PES the one with the best flow with the players often doing what you'd want like the little flicks and back heels to keep the play going forward.

AI is light years ahead of FIFA, it would never score a goal like that against you.
