General Videogame Thread

If you are value minded and shopping for a console, go for the xbox one.

I have 47 free games that I still haven't gotten to play.

Thanks to Sony winning the console war this time, xbox are just hurling out free games to keep their base happy. The EA Access service is 20 quid per year and you get a ton of games through that.

In the past year, here's a selection of the freebies I've gotten, either through games with gold or EA Access.

Battlefield 4 and Hardline

Titanfall 2 early access(10 hours)
Battlefield 1 early access(10 hours)
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
All 3 Mass Effects
Fifa/Madden/NHL/NBA/UFC 2/golf etc

Walking Dead telltale

Definitely fantastic value and I think playstation users backed the wrong horse for a slight graphic edge.

The pro and the scorpio don't even support 4k on all games, they're 3 years ahead of themselves, I can't even wrap my head around why they've released these consoles so early??

I had heard the scorpio would.

Xbox need to re-lauch in some capacity. Sony have kicked their asses despite the one being the better gaming console. The kinect backlash was absolutely ridiculous, and it's ended up being the thing that killed the console. Irony is, it's the only true next gen thing about either console(until VR on Sony) and developers could have had a field day.

Scorpio only supports True 4K with games developed by developers partnered with Microsoft, where as PS Pro doesn't actually support True 4K at all..... Sony were just bullied into by Microsoft as they best Microsoft in the PS4 vs Xbox One contest!

IMO the real loser in the battle between Scorpio vs Pro is the consumer, as most people have been dealt false (or should I say misleading) information. Neither company have guaranteed that their consoles support True 4k for all games, and even Microsoft announced (on the sly) that only games developed by partners of Microsoft (basically Microsoft exclusive games) will run in 4k on Scorpio....
Also what lets the Pro down is the fact that it doesn't even play 4k DVD's which should tell that it lacks the hardware to deliver true 4k!

It's a joke really, practically a con, and the fact some people have gone out their way to purchase a 4K TV for their new consoles is out of order!!
 
Has anybody played steep? I really like the footage of this game but I've heard a few vloggers slate the game. I'm a skier myself and really like the look of this and concept of open world skiing.

I beta tested it. 10 mins of awesome fun, then ...well that's pretty much it.

Got old faster than any game I can recall.

Cheers bud, I might wait til it's in the £25-£30 bracket. Ubisoft games seem to drop in price sharply after a few months.
