Does anyone on here know why saying all lives matter could cause such a negative reaction? I seemingly rather naively said it and got a load of shit for it.

It's all about the implicit too. Hopefully this explains it for you and other curious people.

I was simply about to explain it as "Black Lives Matter... Too".

Jrock has the right meaning behind it and his quote highlights what I was going to say, in reality. It's not about "being highlighted at the moment". It's about the complete ignorance of Black lives being snuffed out in any way they liked and cops continuing to not be charged for it.

It wasn't highlighted on the news as a problem, but parroted as per information they were given to blow away the 'problem' and White America got on with their daily lives.

That was the main gist of it.

I'm not confident that this won't end up another Rodney King moment where any one or more of these c*nt's are acquitted. The current protests will seem like a summer fete in comparison if that happens.

There is a larger problem here. American Police don't just kill black people. They are, on the whole, pretty indiscriminate about who they shoot.

Of course black lives matter, but then so do all the others slain by what is, in most states, a vigilante force.

Cops kill people. Cops resign. Cops don't get prosecuted.

That's the larger issue. American Police forces in general.

I know 4 cops were shot at or killed yesterday (not sure where), so tit-for-tat might just be happening in certain situations.

I don't quite agree or disagree with what he says!

why is it so hard for American law to implement a policy that gives tougher sentences to police that commit brutality and openly state so everyone knows that if a police officer does something similar again without reasonable justification they will be charged with Murder.
