10ft away? so less than 2 seconds to close that gap and kill an officer.
His path in life was made decades before-how he ended up here is very sad but this is not the fault of the police and certainly not a reason to loot and riot.

No - he had mental health issues. Do you not think one of the cops should have drawn his tazer rather than his weapon and taken the first shot?

That is what was reported.
However putting that aside why was their go to means deadly force?
As long as they have shitty training and poor actions then the outcomes will just continue to put themselves and fellow officers in more danger than they need to be.

Because why would you put your own life,or that of another/innocent,at risk when you have an alternative that ensures otherwise.
This situation is far from unique,you'd think by now the bad guy would cotton on......threaten Police officers with a deadly weapon and refuse to comply or cooperate and there is a very high chance you won't get another opportunity.
Do as instructed and you get to enjoy another breakfast.
I have no issue with that process.

scroll back - somebody put on the thread 4 examples of a knifeman being detained by the Police yesterday. The difference was they were in the UK where Police aren't routinely armed. It can be done. Must UK Cops don't want to be armed because they know that will just escalate things and every bag snatching scally and car thief will want a gun to use against their perceived threat and so the cycle of killings would begin.
