Gerald Sinstadt RIP

As others have said brings back TV memories of 1970s Maine Road which on screen always looked to me to be a dark place (literally as in poor lighting).
RIP

91 - Thats a decent knock for a man who must have spent a lot of his life sat on gantry's freezing his arse off to commentate - RIP Gerald
Decent commentator, like Hugh John's (did the Midlands games I remember?) and Peter Jones and Bryon (?)Butler on Radio 2, commentaries that basically described the games without all the other shit.
Talking of TV gantry positions, seem to remember the one at Maine Road was perched beneath the (old )Main Stand roof with just a ladder to climb up. Any commentators with a fear of heights would have loved that!!
