I think the doubtless well intentioned reluctance to call it a terrorist attack just fuels conspiracy theories, RW opportunists and suspicion of the media and authorities - see Southport etc.

And if they called it out as a terrorist attack, which in all probability it is, then the RW opportunists and conspiracy nutjobs would froth at the mouth and take their fascism angrily to the streets.

The media can't win in situations like these.
