Gerry Gow - RIP

I was talking about Gerry, Tommy Hutch, and Bobby Mac just last night. So sad to hear this news. RIP Gerry

I was six and that Norwich FA Cup game was the first City game I can actually remember being at.

He quickly became a hero of mine and I have already spoken this morning to some people who knew him personally.

Make no mistake, he was always humbled and slightly bemused by the affection he was held in at City.

He was choked up the other year when blues came down for a benefit night.

Hard man and legend.

RIP Gerry. One of the most decent blokes I ever met. Good laughs in the Bulls Head on Saturday nights and the Bluey on Sunday dinner. God bless 'Wee Man'.

I suppose those that were around when Gerry was a player have said all that needs to be said, a grafter, a hard man and his footballing ability criminally under-rated at times, always had a big soft spot for Gerry, Bobby and Tommy, as mentioned, they gave us a brief flicker of hope/life back then, so rest in peace Gerry, you'll be sadly missed by one and all.

One of my all time city greats loved watching him playing growing up a kid.

A proper footballer took not shit from anyone when he was the field.

Hi fellas, A Bristol City supporter here, please excuse the incursion. I thought it worth registering to comment.
Reading this thread really shows how Gerry left his mark (literally in many cases) on all that watched and met him.
As I'm sure you well know, we had the best years of Gerry and he's an utter legend at our club, a term used far too easily nowadays but not in his case. We are all absolutely gutted to read the news this morning.
Thanks to you all from us BCFC supporters for a lovely thread, it's been linked on our social media so utter respect to you.
We are planning something suitable for our home game with Blackburn in a couple of weeks although the song we always used for him might not go down too well in the modern world but we'll do it anyway.
R.I.P Gerry, never, ever forgotten and thanks.

Loved watching Gerry as a 10 year old kid, guts, balls and no mean ability, RIP Gerry and sincere condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Gerry, great player for us. That FA cup video against Norwich bought back some lovely memories, packed Kippax, the umbro kit and Mr Gow pulling the strings in midfield.

Absolutely gutted, one of my favourite players watching as a kid, that season getting to Wembley was just fantastic and Gerry was the leader.

Would love to hear one last chorus

At the knee at the thigh at the neck Gerry Gow,Gerry Gow,Gerry Gow, GERRY GOW. RIP You legend

Welcome, on this very sad day.

It may be 36 years ago, however Man City fans will never forget the impact Gerry had at our club in such a short space of time. He gave 100% every game , fearless, a legend as he carried the young team through to Wembley. I cannot recall any other player having such an immediate impact on our fortunes. We will never forget him. Thoughts are with his family and all BCFC fans.
