Most forums have much more advertising than this one and are worse to use because of it. The design of this forum is perfect too. The only problem at the moment has been the rapid increase in users. Dont talk crap. The amount of users has been steady for a while. The revenue from advertising is conjecture. The advertising is not minimal, try logging in as a guest. If you take my post as being "shirty" then u r a little precious and oversensative.

The team that run this place (of which I'm one) do it for nothing, nobody, not even Ric takes a cent from the site, all money raised for adverts go towards the running cost, note the "towards" bit, that means what it says.
It annoys the cr@p out of me, when people criticise a website without knowing the facts. Damocles who is often on here balancing things out, has been away for reasons which he doesn't need to explain to anyone, and when he comes back he'll no doubt be spending half his life sorting out the problems, until then I suggest you learn to live with it.

I can not believe how damn right rude and ungrateful some people are,Weve got the best City forum on the internet and because of a few technical problems,which have been explained in previous threads,people think it gives them the right to be damn right bloody rude.
It seems to me that it don't matter what the team who run this site do,it's never good enough.I think one or two of you should grow up and stop behaving like spoilt brats,because things aren't going your way.

I know the mods continaully bring out this line, but just as much of a right as you guys and everyone else has to defend the site, the users also have to be have room to voice thier concerns when the site runs like shit.
There are plenty of bigger forums out there that run fine, of course we don't know the technicals behind it, but Damocles has been working stupid hours for almost a year and this place is still shit. The amount of ads around here is embarrassing (thanks firefox ;) ) we were told this was to cover server costs, servers still shit.
Posters are offering to help financially if it means they have a relaible service and mods are telling them to mind thier own business and find a new forum if they don't like it.
Either sort it out so we don't have to complain or let us know why its shit and how we can help... if thats financially then so be it, how much have we raised for blues/banners etc over the years... i'm sure youd raise even more to keep this place up and running.

I guess we need to get better at it then. Like I said, it will only get worse. I do not run websites, however I use many. Many of them football forums with as many users and far fewer problems than this site. Maybe we could recruit somebody with the same skills as Damocles. Switching forum software is problematic too, as it may result in us losing the existing database which would be a nightmare, as we'd effectively be setting up from scratch.
It's a bit annoying that every day new threads are started with people complaining, and the implication that we're doing nothing about the problem, as Damoles and myself are spending hours every day trying to resolve it. You have to bear in mind that we have families and jobs outside of Bluemoon too.
We will fix the problem eventually, we just ask for a little patience. The changes that have happened to the club mean we're getting an unprecedented amount of traffic on the site, and we need to adapt the forum accordingly but it's not a two minute job, like some suggest.

Maybe the people running the site actually have better things to do than come on here and pander to your every whim..
I eagerly await your new city forum which will have capacity for 100 million concurrent users, will be advertisement free, without subscriptions, with 0% downtime over a year.
