TO THE OWNER AND MODS,
I would also like to say that its a great site and thank you for your hard work. I know you dont want to, but a small donation would and must help to cover costs and the reliability of the site. £10 per year is not a great deal, less than £1 per month, 3p per day and in return we, me, you can have discussions with blues from every corner of the globe. After the game on wednesday, no matter the score i would love to come onto bluemoon but im not even going to attempt it, as i know the outcome. I totally understand that the mods and owner have, jobs, responsibilities and most important of all, families to contend with, but when people are more than willing to show there hand in a financial way, which would help to sort things out - then i think you should seriosly consider this option. As regards to losing all of the previous posts and data, if this means that bluemoon will run at a much faster speed and be more reliable then that is a sacrifise that i, and im sure most other users would accept.

The people involved in running the site have life's away from here regardless of were the advertising money does or does not go. What right do you have to demands on something that has cost you nothing.?

Can't be arsed reading the whole thread but the tone of the OP is - not for the 1st time - irritating in the way that it lacks any regard, respect or appreciation whatsover for the people giving up their time freely to run this site on our behalf.
So to echo Sam Eto's remarks - if you don't like it - foxtrot oscar. Bluemoon will not miss you or your contributions.

has it ever been discussed that maybe we make this a login site only? if this helps it run smoother and may also deter other fans reading posts and working out ways to hijack the site

1. Re your fits paragraph, I never said anything of the sort.
2. We've told you what the problems are/have been.
3. Adverts pay towards the running cost, not in total for it.
I get annoyed when people who don't know anything, come on putting demands in the subject title like the OP did, there's no problem at all with debating it, or even asking nicely whats wrong, but Ric has a young family to look after, and all the rest of us surprisingly have lives and jobs, away from Bluemoon, to get on with (I'm currently at mine, and moderating on here as well).
I happen to know that going from what we have here now, to the "next level" is a very large jump in cost, and as I said above Ric has stated a number of times he doesn't want to charge, he didn't want to have adverts either, but the last upgrade he made required it, and adverts are minimal if you log in.
In fact if people logged in rather than viewed as guests it might actually help with the issues.

If some people could take the time to go downstairs into Technical Queries, and read the post headed Damocles, you may appreciate the efforts of Ric and Damocles a bit more.

Apart from some bits and bobs to do this week, I'm back on full-time now.
I'll be working to find the causes of the problems that have been affecting us recently.
I'll do a proper post on them when I get chance. Be aware that I'll be working entirely on the server tonight, so it may go slow with only a small amount of users online.

Your a star mate, how do you find time to sleep!?
I mentioned to cleavers earlier tonight that prehaps a sticky in the tech section that explains (in Lehmans terms ;) ) what the problems are, how you're going about fixing them etc might be a decent idea, perhaps with updates along the way.
A lot of us have no clue about the technical side of the forum, i think thats why these threads pop up; if people don't understand the nature of the problem, then its hard to grasp how big the issues are and how complex they are to resolve.
