Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

maybe Pep had enough of conceding from first on target shot vs us. thats not all on Ederson, but lot of the times I felt maybe someone else would have saved it.
Me too. How many times have I just got annoyed because he didn't save a shot that I would expect even a bog standard goalie to save.

I see your argument but he would require such a change to the way that we play I would be shocked if Pep wanted him. This coming season could turn out to be one of massive transition for us.
Did he not just win the Champions League with PSG who play out from the back quite a lot?

I think Donnarumma is just ridiculously good, but I think it speaks volumes about the value of a keeper when he's being run out basically for wages. I think the guy is the best in the world at actual keeping. Maybe he's not a midfielder in keeper like Eddie, but Eddie does what Pep likes, which is what I like. I personally think the pendulum would sway in favor of Donnarumma if you get down to the brass tacks and see the results, but he's not as good with his feet. So we save six assists over a career. Bet we save more than six goals.......

That being said, this won't happen and is WUM material.

Was just going to ask if there is actually any reliable source linking him with city?
L'Equipe claimed 24 hours ago that City have agreed personal terms and only await the agreement of Ederson with Galatassaray.

This is a translation...

News of a contract agreement between Donnarumma and Manchester City quickly spread. For several weeks, the English club has been waiting for Ederson's departure to Galatasaray to make more concrete progress, while at the same time looking for the best way to approach PSG so as not to have to pay a high price with one year left on his contract.

Fabrice Hawkins from RMC Sports also claimed similar.

I think City have been working on a deal for Donnarumma but won't push it unless Gala make an acceptable bid for Ederson.

Will end in tears this, Donna not fit to lace Eddie at the one thing Pep commands, he has the footwork of a giraffe on skates, superior in every other department but 5/10 with the ball at feet, unless Pep is going all fat Sam to shake up the prem, with a revie plan for the Viking and whoever we play off him )8
Wimbledon II here we come. ;)

utter tripe.
Absolutely.

A scenario, where professional footballers at the very top level are given assurances that they will be in the starting 11 before moving to a new club is delusional.

It's always been about getting into the team, playing well and staying in the team because your performance's prove you deserve to be in the team.

You may well have contacts who’ve told you Eddie wants a new deal at City, in which case fair enough mate - that would change my view.

But if you’re going off the same information as the rest of us, then there’s absolutely nothing whatsoever to suggest he wants to stay at City beyond his current deal - quite the opposite, it seems he’s willing to go pretty much anywhere, as he’s decided the time is right to leave.

No point in offering a player a new deal if you know they have no interest in accepting one - and I would take the lack of movement from either City or Ederson on this as acknowledgement of that position.

City will know where every player stands on their future at the Club, and will negotiate new deals with those they want to keep who are happy to stay.

Seems clear Eddie doesn’t fall into this camp.

Shame, as I love the player - but we’ll move on, as we have with all the Club legends who’ve left us in the past.
Sadly I agree. I would have thought that the ideal scenario would be for eddie to sign new deal, and Trafford eventually making the position his own, while Eddie becomes our number two over time in the twilight of his career.

Would save us from signing another keeper and throwing more money at the problem, while we have a capable deputy ingrained in the fabric of the club.

Oh well.

I’ve only ever seen Ederson have a world class performance in a big game once in his entire career for City, and that was the UCL final 2023 (great time to do it) I’ve never really ever seen him have a games like Courtois did vs Liverpool, or Alisson vs PSG. Recently watched highlights of the game vs Madrid last season, Ederson performance vs Madrid last season was hilarious, he made 4 top saves and then made a ridiculous error leading to an equaliser when Madrid looked like they were happy to take a 2-1 loss back to Bernabeu. Even his keeping vs Havertz goal in the 2021 final was idiotic. Truth is, if we had Courtois or Alisson over the last 5 years we’d have at least 1 more UCL. I think we don’t lose in 2021 vs Chelsea, 2022 vs Madrid or 2024 vs Madrid either. Ederson was always incredible against the lesser teams because he is like having an extra outfield player, but rarely stepped up in big European ties.

Here in France, RMC Sport, the most listened-to radio channel that covers football, has a show every Monday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. called "Funny Ladies" that covers football in the four major leagues: Johann Crochet for Italy, Fred Hermel for Spain, Polo Breitner for Germany, and Julien Laurens for England. And every time he talks about City, he talks nonsense and even invents unfounded rumors. Once, it was Pep who didn't like KDB. Pep doesn't respect KDB, the two men don't get along. City will face severe sanctions for cheating in the trial of the century. Pep is finished and has to go. City paid a lot of money for Reijnders (a consultant corrected him and told him it was a very good price given the quality of the player).

Here it is last February when he said that nobody watches City on TV, it is not a team that makes the ratings, it is more Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, the presenter Gilbert Bribois was very surprised and shocked could not believe it

Here is the excerpt from the show:

I had to send a message to the Bluemoon account, the Twitter account of City supporters here in France, to point out the nonsense of the Parisian Arsenal supporter. Anyway, I don't know what he says in England, but here, he is constantly negative about Manchester City.

Good man. Continue comme ça.
